Either they were testing Mugen parts or they weren't. They can't be "similar" they would have to be the same. The Mugen bumper pieces are stuck on it looks like, and the ring prototype looks completely different. Look at the right side of the back alone and that will show you.

You're right on the rear. The front still looks like half the fake grill is covered up like the Mugen car. Either way the only thing that looks good are the tail lights.

I think we are looking at the face lifted Type R (talking about the white car) underneath the Mugen tuning here. Tail lights are updated, as well as the front bumper (the fake vents are partially covered like in some spy shots.)

I don’t whine Mugen would release their own tail light. Doesn’t fit to what they usually do.

Are there some interior shots?
If so no thanks. The only thing I like is the tail lights.

I'd like to see those tail lights up close! Everything else is bleh but those tail lights look interesting! I wonder if those would be direct bolt ons for the regular hatchbacks?

Slowride, you might be right, was working from memory rather than looking again.

The Mugen Aero, or in this case looks to be additive pieces, has always been a little.. controversial, and odd looking, though always better in the flesh. As I said the parts Im interested in are suspension, intake, exhaust and anything else they have done performance wise.

In the past for example the Mugen engine mounts and gearbox bushings transformed my DC2R, and also added Mugen baffled sump as I frequently went to the circuit.

Disappointingly though Mugen doesn't appear to do as much outside of cosmetic, exhaust and suspension these days.

Its a little surprising to me if they will release just stick on parts for the aero, as even the Mugen bumpers for my humble little Fit RS are full replacements, who knows, maybe to make international shipping easier?

I'm starting to suspect that its a Japanese style/culture that inspired these designs. It must be the new 'It' thing over there that they are into whereas to us its just plain ugly. Just an observation I made with a few products coming out from Japan that we don't find appealing but seems popular over there.

From an aesthetics point of view on the Championship White CTR: Now I have seen the "real life" pics, I am not convinced.. Doesn't suit the profile of the car, makes it look more "ad-hoc". Think it's safe to say that the original "out there" design is enough for the car and trying to add to doesn't make sense...
Adding more vortex generators on the mirrors and front splitter - really, surely this is where you want smoother airflow!

It's a defo no from me!

its hard to say and obviously very subjective. This car is loud to begin with and it was controversial from the get go. Lots people already hated the styling of it. So, it's pretty hard to add something to an already loud car. It's like adding something to a Veilside kit.
For the white, street kit, IMO, the 2 tone looks weird on this car. Maybe because I'm used to the OEM black lip kit? If I was to get it, I'd CF wrap it to match the stock. But it sure is growing on me. As for the wing, really mixed feelings..lol. There's days I like it, then there's days I don't. The oem wing support is thick and chunky. The aftermarket wings have thin supports, so it looks a bit out of place.:dunno:

I don't know why the changes are so out there. I could see them making some subtle changes. These changes just turn me away from the car. I heard someone else mention that it may be something that's taking off in Japan while a lot of North American/European folks find it as a bit over the top.

Spoiler, tail lights, and front vent pieces are the only things I'm interested in cosmetically. But I'm most likely in the minority in appreciating their out-there craziness with some of the design.

Too bad I'm moving more toward a Spoon build. :hmm:
Same with leaning towards a Spoon build. They haven't shown any body parts for the FK8 yet have they?

Maybe if they made it like this, I'd consider it.

- Removed the center divider on the hood vent.
- Painted the new lip black but it could go either way with it being painted body color.
- Removed the black outline on the grill cover but to achieve something like this, it might as well be a new bumper from Mugen.
