I reached out to Exedy this morning and got a response from Bill Garrett:
Thank you for your interest in Exedy products.

These products are currently in development. That last update we received was summer of 2019 for any aftermarket clutches for the 1.5L.

If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

I’m pretty sure there is a similar screen grab where Bill said late spring 2018. Eventually it will be true I guess.

Bumping an old thread with no new information (sorry). Emailed Exedy. Pretty sure Bill Garrett just has a copy-paste set up at this point. Development is always a season away. Now Fall 2019. The 11th Gen will be out by the time Exedy brings clutches to market. Makes no sense. Yeah, DM Eman, I know. It would be nice to have an option that you could just buy in the normal way. They already built the damn thing for the CTR, why is this so hard?

<<Thank you for your interest in Exedy products.

Clutches for both applications in OE and performance are in development.

We pass on the lead times that we receive from our engineers in Japan. The last update we received was for us to have products in the fall of this year. As soon as we have any updates we will be sure to make an announcement and let the community at large know that they are available.

Thanks for keeping us updated. Hopefully the extra time means they work out the issues that plague the current aftermarket clutches.

Francomakou,
Your photos are very clear. We can see the disc with springs, the assembly and the
single mass flywheel before assembly.
My question: Can we mount the whole thing on an SI without modifying the flywheel?
If not, what modification should be made.
Thank you for your answer.
I am asking because I am tired of the chatter on my FX 300.

You have to order the kit from @k20z3allmotor as he uses Si Flywheels and uses and modifies the starter rings to make it fit onto the type R flywheel. Also machines the type r flywheel to fit the trans of the Si as he knows the precise measurements.

Thank you for the information. I thought I could buy the 3 components of the Type R
and have them installed without modification.
It is very expensive to modify parts in the US: transports and customs duties drive up prices.
To give you an idea, the FX 300 came back to me at $ 780 and the AFE Takeda down pipe
at $ 970.
I think I' m going to live with the chatter, Thank You again.

Lol last time I asked they said fall 2018, spring 2019. Not worth the wait just get EMan's Type R Retrofitted clutch that feels just like a little heavier stock but holds over 400wtq

Does anyone have news? Maybe it's time to make some pressure, can't take that long to make a decent clutch.

As a now Type R owner, I have the sad duty of telling you that the Type R clutch will not hold over 400 wtq. A small number of owners are experiencing slipping on base maps (~350 wtq), and many with custom tunes (370-390 wtq) are slipping. Most looking to make 400+ wtq have switched to something like a sprung FX400.

It’s definitely a comfy long term option for those looking to make low to low-mid 300’s though.
