jack up the rear and see if you can pull the spring out. also check if the cone is holding on to the top nipple. if not you need to contact GC and have them send you some center pins to lock it in
Called GC. The recommend electrical tape to hold white cone in place

weird.. they sent me little 3d printed bolt type things that go in the middle to hold it down.. but i never installed it.
Def. weird! I litterally called when I read your first reply. I also asked why do they claim 1.75” drop when at best it’s 1”. The rep stated that all cars are different but they offer lower spring up to 2” shorter then what the kit comes with at $75 each.

On the Si the limiting factor is the damper itself. You can lower it a fair bit but you find yourself riding on the (trimmed) bump stop with no travel left in the front dampers.

Is there a after market strut that will work better? I guess at that point a full coil over would be best

i complained about their so called 1.75 lower but they pretty much said you gotta deal with it.
If they gave me a choice of springs I’d be much happier. The height of the spring the kit comes with defeats the purpose of the coil over. A 1” shorter spring would be perfect imo.

Yeah, the only reason the sleeve kit is worth using (in my optoin) is to maintain the factory electronic dampening system.

true.. but also.. that front caster helps.
Camber you mean? The standard billet plates that come with the kit dont change caster, the steel race plates like I have change caster a bit

GC is not willing to work with me on getting me some helpers.. asking me to pay for them lol when their kit is completely faulty.
Lol I have the same issue. I emailed GC and they are charging $10 + shipping for some pins. I asked for the 3D printing file but would not send to me.

For those that got the pins from GC, does that solve the issue? Do you also need to tape down the white cones, in addition to installing those pins? And with the pins, would you still need helper springs?

After reading so many faulty complaints with GC Coilovers on the FK8, I would never consider purchasing them. Many people have complained about noise from the rear suspension and using Mickey Mouse methods of supporting the rear springs to stay in place including tape from a well know motorsport shop in SoCal. I would just rather buy a complete coilover setup that functions well with car and do everything the right way.

I 2nd this. I sadly would not recommend this kit given our experience with it for a few months and a couple of track days. I to suggest a full coilover conversion.

Just curious what are the negatives of the GC kit, other than the rear springs coming loose when the car is lifted?

We personally had a few issues with the cups underneath the camber plates up front. They seemed to be sized too small and would always pop out from underneath the spherical bearing which made some very loud and annoying metallic popping sounds. Grease would help but the level of maintenance on it was excessive.
