I would choose Polished Metal Metallic anyday. I get tons of compliments for my car being Polished Metal Metallic from all age groups and from people of different gender. Depending on lighting Sonic Gray has a pastel color like finish. Not really a fan of pastel colors would never choose Sonic Gray even if it was offered at MSRP.

PMM FTW!

I love CW, but I also love CBP so PMM is the perfect in between color!

PMM doesn't look different from all the other metallic greys I've seen (to me). I chose Sonic Grey because I love the blue-ish hue and how it looks under different lighting.

I got the PMM actually more based off the interior having the option for the ivory/black interior and I'm really happy with it. I actually wanted the sonic gray pearl because I thought it was more unique but overall I'm happy with my decision, it seems like that color is becoming more of a trend. Also the PMM is near impossible to make it look dirty :D

If this has been argued to death before in the past then I apologize, but is there a difference between the Polished Metal Metallic colour and the Modern Steel Metallic? There used to be a youtube vid about the comparison differences but it seems like it's been taken down. From what I gather, it looks like the MSM color is on the civic, accord and several other vehicles but the PMM color is exclusive to the hatchbacks no?

I attached a pic here taken from the honda website which obviously doesn't do it any justice. I hope it's not some kind of nefarious marketing ploy to use flashy names for the same paint color but I remember reading somewhere that one of the colors has a more 'bluish' or 'purplish' hue to it if I'm not mistaken? Anyway, if anyone has detailed info thanks in advance!

from my understanding they are the same, my 9th gen civic Si was modern steel and it was pretty much exact same color as my R

I agree, SGP is one of those super trendy colors that has only recently become popular over the last 20 years or so, and I bet some of those SGP owners are going to really regret their flavor-of-the-minute color choice by the mid 2030s or so.

I personally just love the color, trendy or not. When I saw it in person, I immediately knew it was the color I wanted (after originally thinking I preferred the CW). It just works so well with the other aesthetic elements of the car. Not really a fan of how the color looks on that Audi though - a bit too bland without any other accents for it.

Yeah, this exactly. Prior to 2019 I was between Red and Blue, I knew that EU got the SGP from the Top Gear Chris Harris and thought..man if we got that color it'd be an easy choice. It happened in 2019 and I knew for a fact that was the color I wanted.

I like it because of how the pearl effect changes the way it looks under different lighting. I was also a fan of the Skyline's Midnight Purple II. If the CTR came in that color I'd probably choose that over the SGP.

I agree. I am a big fan of CW and PY for type R colors, however this color is exactly what I wanted.

Good, the less SPG on the road, the more valuable they are in the future due to low production count.
