I just bought myself a MAPerformace catted downpipe with a new turbo gasket. I only have about 8,000 miles on my car. Should I wait to put the new gasket on after I have driven 50k miles or just go ahead and slap it on now? I asked a few people and they said I shouldn't need a new gasket unil 50k or so miles but I went ahead and bought the thing anyway.

be sure to spray some deep creep on those top bolts as well. some have broken a bolt getting the down pipe off.

be sure to spray some deep creep on those top bolts as well. some have broken a bolt getting the down pipe off.

Even with PB blaster I still stripped a nut. It was the last nut holding the dp too lol. Autozone sells these special sockets for stripped bolts and I was able to get it off using that. I’d recommend soaking all the bolts with on blaster for 24 hours if you can.

Does anyone know if CNT FP/DP are good quality? The price it’s pretty much unbeatable tho, $379 for the combo. I was looking at prl, but there’s a diameter restriction since I’m running a 2.5” exhaust. Thanks!

I'm running the cnt setup with no problems, it's not a full 3" like prl though, it tapers down from 3" to like 2.25"

Same here, I snapped my stud. I got a "special tool" to take it off but didn't work. Mechanic charge me $200 to take it off :S

I guess I was lucky. I did not snap any of my studs. CEL popped up though. I am going to look into getting a defouler instead of disabling through Ktuner. :dunno:
