LEDs and precipitation dont mix
Why is that? Cars are coming with LED headlights now so how do they get around it? Is it just the temperature of the light?

The lights posted are 6500k...this tells me they are more blue in tone than the LED DRL's which would be approx 4500-5000k. As the numbers increase so does the blue-ish tint, if we were looking at 3000k, then they would be very yellow.

As for the argument of LED versus halogen versus HID, etc. Everyone has their own opinion and price is usually one of the biggest motivators for making a decision on what is purchased. Blinding oncoming traffic or having less output is all depending on the bulb itself as some have a better design or a different orientation when installed. Morimoto is a commonly recommended brand on the forum and the post was merely made by the member to provide a comparison, not a criticism
I believe morimoto sponsors civic x so that means nothing.

reads this online in reference to the snow
I thought there was something wrong with my LED's so i followed another car closely until the next rest stop. When i got out to inspect the lights, they were not even warm to the touch. With halogens/xenons you would never have this issue since they produce enough heat to dissipate the snow/ice.
Might be why?

Other precipitation I imagine that the color of the lights is what makes it more difficult. :dunno: I see people that put yellow tint on fog lights due to the color of the lights ability to contrast during precipitation/fog. Might be the same thing.

Brunske15 - Thanks for the post. I purchased these and installed in my '19 Si Coupe. H11 for low beam and fogs, 9005 for High Beams. Paid $136 for the three pairs, but ended up getting refunded $99 from Amazon because they were delayed in shipping. Really happy with these LEDs. Nice quality housings and wire harness. Very happy now that my other lights now match my DRLs in color and I have a nice bright road in front of me. Thanks again, good choice in LEDs

I've been a fan of these LEDs for a few years and I'm happy to hear someone else having a positive experience!

Thanks for the contribution hahaha All I'll say in response is don't buy into certain brands just because of a name. Someone else here pointed out that the other brand is a sponser here... I've had a good experience and some other members have also. I'm sorry you overpaid for your LEDs..

LED drop-in bulbs as a whole are trash, I don't have any and nearly immediately sold any that I've bought as they were only for testing purposes. HID retrofit is the only way to go for proper output. Not really that expensive.

2Stroke is a better overall output than Nineo or similar bulbs based on our testing, which are too heavy in the foreground. People get deceived by peak output vs overall beam pattern when rating output, hence the constant overrating of OEM Touring.

Telling people not to buy certain brands because of a name isn't necessarily bad, as long as you preface it by saying all LED drop-in are going to be trash vs HID or a retro.

Are these tests compiled and published anywhere? It would be a great resource for the forum

2nd that.. I'd like to see the results and how they were tested. I'm really hoping "testing" wasn't you and your buddies comparing bulbs.. haha... HID versus LED versus whatever... is all really a matter of opinion/preference. Everyone is going to have a preference and it is usually dictated by cost. I bet there are people out there that prefer halogens for the cost and ease of buying them locally. I used to love Silverstar Ultras and I'm very happy with the Nineo LEDs. I'm sure there is bigger and better things but I'm not worried about it.

Sure if you don't mind not seeing and blinding everyone
Even regular LEDS will blind anyone as the car shifts up and down hills. I had a Lexus behind me and every time I moved forward I got blinded like fuck. There’s literally no difference.

If you're below the cutoff, you will get blinded like fuck with any OEM HID or LED setup. The problem with drop-in bulbs in our cars is excessive glare created above the cutoff.

That's fine, personal preference is one thing... and it's really not a matter of opinion since you can objectively quantity the spread of light, the percentage that lands in the foreground, and the lux of light that is projected at the cutoff since that's where you want it for distance vision. When you've done enough retrofits with high quality projectors like RX350's, TL's, etc you know what good output is supposed to look like.

It's completely fine if you're okay with the Nineo output, and I've given up trying to tell people not to put these kinds of bulbs in their cars and don't really care anymore. But there is merit in bulbs like SL1 or 2Stroke 2.0 because of the beam pattern, even if they are overpriced.
