Where did you get this horrible information?
How are you getting 39? I’m getting 27 for city. Stupid low. I’m actually offended I’m not getting better mileage.

90% highway. 20 miles of my commute. I have a big incline and then I'm steady 70/75Mph mostly downhill to work. If the gauges are accurate, even Econ helps on the freeway, but I don't put much faith in that.

When you fill up and reset, It's based on your last tank. It will adjust according to your driving after that.
.
Makes sense. Was just surprised it didn't start at 33mpg×12(ish) gal tank =396 til empty when odm is at 6. Instead started at 335 miles. If I'm averaging 39 mpg that reset better break 400!

Thanks for the info and optimistic clarification. =]

i have found that the mpg calculated by the car is not very accurate.
it varies depending on idle time and length of drives.
the most accurate way is to use math or an app.

I got 23 MPG exactly on my last fill up which kind of sucks. Granted, there were times were I drove spiritedly and I did a couple of pulls to test out the difference after reflashing the car with a more aggressive throttle response, but overall for the most part I drove regular. Recently filled up a new tank and the range showed 235 miles so looks like i'm going to have to drive like a saint to get those numbers back up.

thats interesting because i drive my coupe pretty spirited in city and im getting 28.7. granted its automatic and im not gunning it every start but i would think yours should get more out of it.

Yeah thats what I thought too. 23 MPG seems awful even with spirited driving. Car still has just under 6000 miles on it because I don't drive the Civic too much to be honest, so i'm hoping the MPG's go up as I put more miles on it. I honestly expected a minimum of 26-27 MPG from this car ideally speaking.

Gas mileage will vary. I live in San Francisco, many hills, stop and go heavy traffic most of the time. I get about 23mpg with 3500 miles driven so far.

On the highway, so long as it is pretty flat, I can get 42/43 easy in my EX CVT. And that is with two other adults and some suitcases onboard.

it varies depending on idle time and length of drives.
That part bugs the hell out of me. Unless I am in gear, piss off computer! Every time I use the remote start, it is rolled into the calculations... Grr...

Yeah thats what I thought too. 23 MPG seems awful even with spirited driving.
Even when I am in the worst of it (Winter), I only ever go as low as 25 and usually average about 30 overall regardless of season (I have mostly city driving as there is no "ring road" highway where I live to let me go at a better speed). As indicated above, those long highway drives are just awesome. I actually don't get anything as much as matters in difference whether I am going 55 or 75/80. These cars just cut the air like a freaking hot knife in liquid butter. Even with a roof box on it, the thing is great (37 MPG at about 75).

My Mpg tanks HARD in the winter. I was usually getting like 35-36 in the summer, it drops to 26 in the winter. My GF is getting 1mpg better in her 2013 4wd escape in the winter (because her commute is all freeway and mine is half city stoplight ville)

So the range was at 0, the tank holds 12.39 Gallons, it took 11.372 gallons to fill it, So by calculation it was actually 45.02 MPG over this tank, So at 0 range, I had a little over a gallon left which meant I could have made it another 40 miles at a range of 0. It had turned 0 about 5 miles before I got to the gas station.

I know this is about miles til empty, put several people are talking about their mpg and what the car says they are getting. I personally like to use Fuelly to calculate my mpg. For those that don't know what it is, it's free to use and all you do is enter your miles driven since your last fill up and how many gallons of gas you put in this time. the website/app will tell you your true mpg as well as track your mpg for each fill up and how much you pay.

I agree with 3R5. I don’t use Fuelly but I do the math myself. When I fill up I will reset my trip meter. When I go empty I will write down the miles I put on. Then I fill it up and write down the gallons it took to fill it back up. Then you just divide the miles by the gallons and you get a pretty accurate mpg. I notice the car digital reading is usually high by 1 mpg, which isn’t bad. Also since it’s winter and we are using winter grade fuel our mpg is going to be lower than when we use summer grade fuel. Mine went from average 35mpg to 32mpg with no difference in driving habits. Hope this helps

My question is, what grade of gas are you guys using. My 2018 Si recommends above 91 but can use the 87. Have you experienced different mpg with different grades of gas? I have mixed driving habits with each fill up (hard pulls with easy driving and usually in sport mode/ no tune yet) and get about 32 mpg via onboard computer.

Well both mine and my girlfriends car recommend 87 octane. Mine is the lx 2.0 while hers is the ex 1.5 turbo. Now while in the winter I have been getting 32mpg average while she gets about 33. But both of us were getting better during the summer with the summer grade fuel. Also I don’t know if you’ve had your first oil change yet but make sure you continue to use a good quality synthetic oil and good air filter. I bought a air filter from oreillys and noticed power loss. Checked the air filter and it has expanded to where the pleats were pretty much sealed shut. I ordered original Honda filter and my power came back. The original Honda filter is a oiled paper filter and is actually really good quality.

I wish we had those gas prices on the west coast. That's cheaper than E85 and E85 is cheap here!
