From what I’ve read people think they were a last minute attempt at better engine bay cooling to let hot air out through the fenders by not having them. I’ll see on my next track day what I think.

The fender vents are meant to vent air out of the wheel well that stagnates there doesn’t affect brake cooling at all
They’re on EU cars only, I’m sure it’s regulatory and not for overheating.

I had read something about them being removed from USA cars last minute to try aiding in overheating. No idea how true it is.

Yours sounds more likely

Did you direct wire to the battery with a relay? My classic Supertones from my old car had instructions to be wired that way but didn't want to deal with it so used different horn upgrade. Did you have to modify the brackets at all to get them to fit?

Mind sharing how you cut that grill into that shape?
Well, the first thing you need is patience :) I masked the hole to cut out with strong tape, drilled in all 4 courners a 3mm hole and cut it roughly out with a electronic saw , than I took a file to smooth it out and than some sanding paper to finish it ,bought some metal grill and glued it on the back ,not very difficult but it takes some time to do it....

Did this... not today, but yesterday. Had it for a while now, just didn't have time to do an install. Took a little longer than expected.

Made the air intake hole bigger, cut away some plastic and a little metal piece and with the extra modified bumper (extra grill) it will get more air in now....

did you have to replace some bolts, etc? I've been thinking of doing this also...but I know I better do it on a day with plenty of time and extra set of nuts/bolts
