My point is that you will see no gain whatsoever with an aftermarket exhaust 2.5" or 3" after the frontpipe.
So basically, the only change will be sound? So no performance to be gain from stock exhaust?

Exactly and aftermarket won’t yield gains either

Anyone here run an aftermarket exhaust with catless downpipe??
I wonder how loud it would get.

Whatever you do, do NOT do straight pipe from turbo back. It is insanely loud and annoying.
I've been wanting to mount my phone to the back of my car, but I don't have any means to do it.
If it could rev up passed 6500 rpm, it'll sound similar to a cross-breed of a crotchrocket and formula 1.
Honestly, I doubt it'll be bad if you've got a standard aftermarket exhaust with resonator and muffler.
In theory and conjunction, both the reso and muff will keep drone down and give it a quiet growl, but
keep in mind, its still a small 4-banger and will have similar sound characteristics of previous Honda motors.

EDIT: Why don't you try going to a cheap muffler shop and
get the mufflers chopped off and weld a straight pipe? Shouldn't cost more than $100
Try that out for a week or two and see how you like it.
The stock resonator should keep the sound down to a reasonable level.

Thanks for your advice.
Indeed, i am thinking to muffler delete but worry about the drone.
My next option is to get a type R exhaust and mount it on my hatchback.. it should flow better and nice and quiet.

Any release plans/dates for this? Intercooler, CAI, and turbo kit are on the way. And the exhaust I wanted is back ordered until April. This is def enticing.

The map exhaust is fantastic. I have had it for a couple of weeks. Does not have that shitty high pitch bees in a can sound. It's tone is deep and aggressive. It makes my car sound mean as hell. It seemed a little loud at first but after a week it is badibasic perfection in my eyes. There is drone present but not the worst i have heard any means.

Unfortunately, nothing on the horizon for them as of yet. And when I called, I believe its a thing of not having a test vehicle. I offered to pay shipping, labor, and tune the vehicle how they wanted to test - but I don't think that's going to happen. I'm trying my hardest to wait it out but I may just end up ordering the Invidia Q300 system through a third party. Glad to hear you like it though, I would def buy this if it was available lol.

Imo prl never properly tested a bigger exhaust VS stock exhaust. They just unscrewed the exhaust after The downpipe. No exhaust could be as bad as a too small exhaust.
There are already 2 other People on this forum who gained Hp( with dyno charts) from only installing a aftermarket exhaust with stock downpipe/frontpipe.So the proof is there...

https://www.civicx.com/threads/apexi-n1-x-exhaust-for-hatchback-review-with-dyno.32041/

The other one is Anthony Taikyu with a spoon exhaust .TDI North posted on FB the dyno results on 25feb. Both fk7 cars went from stock 182hp to 200 Hp with only a exhaust. (No tune).

Interested how it sounds. I got aFe catted downpipe paired with Thermal R&D exhaust system for my sport hatch. Got quite a few sound clips on my insta, type_sport... It's quite quiet and the tone is perfect. A full aFe exhaust, I'd be curious..

I'm excited, not many reviews on honda aFe products but ive always had good things with their domestic products.
