The grip levels for the SC2's are night and day different compared to the PS4S's. The PS4s, handle mostly all conditions very well(except winter), while the SC2's are extreme traction. That is why they used them on the record 7:43 instead of the Conti's. The PS4s have a bit softer sidewall, as it is more of a touring tire. You have to play a lot with the pressures(more than usual) to get it right. The SC2's will grip and just about any pressures. The tradeoff for that extreme grip, is tire wear, shown by the UTQG. Another god tire, similar to the SC2, is Nitto NT-01. Those are great for track days, and wear about as fast as Sc2's, but I believe they are cheaper.

Depending how you drive it will be between 4000 and 6000 miles max.......
Quick update on the tires. I’ve got 8000 miles on them now, including one track day, and they’re holding up great! I’m still loving the traction and very happy with the purchase. I relocated to SOCAL this past summer, so now I can leave them on all year round!

Yup...one good summer and the tires should be gone.
Here’s a photo after 8000 miles. They’re holding up great! At this rate, I’ll probably get another year out of them.

dang, looks new. This is the front tire in picture yea :)
Yeah, I’ve been pleasantly surprised how well they’ve held up! That’s the rear driver’s side tire in the pic. The fronts look the same. I rotate them every 2k miles.

Thanks for the long term update. Making me wish I went this route since I don't daily mine either. Guess next set after my PS4S need replacing which will take a while.

Are these worth it over PS4S? How many miles are you getting street/track on the CUP2?

Depends. For me they are, but I live in a climate that rarely sees rain and is warm enough to run them all year long. I’ve got over 8k on mine and they’re still going strong. You aren’t going to see 30k out of them, but at the rate I’m going I should get 12-15k, which I’m happy with.

I am curious on if the one tread is a different compound from the rest of the tire. Since in your photo it looks to be stickier since there is sand/dirt on that strip.

Have you been tracking or just road miles?

I wondered the same when I saw that.

Did some investigating for our curious minds. Found the following on tire rack.

"The Pilot Sport Cup 2's tread molds Michelin's Bi-Compound technology into an asymmetric design. Bi-Compound technology features different rubber compounds on the tread's outboard and inboard regions."

Whats your roads like that you drive on, my car is only weekend/rare use and for the most part in good weather. But some of our roads are not the best, looking for a tyre I can drive to the track and do some lapping days
