I just got home from work to a letter in the mail stating my account is past due. They told me I had to wait 45 days for my account to update to the new info (I was leasing a Fit previously) when in reality on my HFS page I had to manually add the new account. I made my first payment with the DP on 10/30 & they were supposed to waive the next payment for a "referral" cus the day I got my Si, my girl leased an accord too. So I shouldn't have had to make a payment until 12/30. Didn't get a credit for that, & in big fat red letters on HFS it said ACCOUNT IS 19 DAYS PAST DUE. On top of that, I don't know how I didn't realize this until now, but my Si is supposed to be financed. THEY SET ME UP WITH A LEASE. I'm pissed, HFS customer service is closed, of all days the finance manager is not in the dealership today, & idk what to do. I'm sitting here mad as hell, not sure if I should be feeling stupid or not, with no viable options. Talk to me people, I'm losing it right now.

Do you have copies of any paperwork from the dealer to back up any of that? If so you should be able to get it taken care of.

I got nothing man. It was all verbal , I don’t even know how I’d be able to prove any of that. My boy in the dealership could vouch for me cus he’s the one that passed along the info to the finance manager , but i don’t think he’d risk his job for that. I’m gonna speak with him tomorrow so who knows what could happen. I really don’t wanna be stuck paying almost $900/mo for this car & not even be able to keep it. Unless ofcourse I pay another $10k at end of term

The most I could provide would be a screenshot of me saying “I want to end the lease so I can finance something else” to the sales rep

Sounds like you were rolling negative equity into a new deal and you didn't understand the shit show that entails. Ending a lease prematurely is not free.

You've got nothing? Do you know what interest rate you're supposed to be getting? How many payments you were supposed to make? How much were those payments? What was the sale price of the car? Did you buy any accessories or warranties?

Good luck, but these situations are why you need everything in writing and you shouldn't sign anything until you read it carefully.

Were you aware of what you were signing? Generally the contract you signed should have all the information you need as you should have a copy of it. Your payments are significantly lower if you are leasing verses financing, perhaps you weren't paying attention?

It sounds like you linked your new lease/loan to your account so it should have indicated when your next payment due date would be so I don't know how you could have missed it. Usually HFS will send out an email or text reminder as well unless you opted out to not receive it.
