You can buy a brand new 800 HP GT with a blower for $39,995 all day long, not much more than the CTR and a whole lot more power.
I like the new mustangs and camaros but if you bought the CTR for power you are buying the wrong car...

But can it go straight without pulling to the left? :hmm:
that mustang following the CTR at the beginning though.

It’s weird to be comparing a mustang to a civic type r, the mustang isn’t a practical daily driver. I live in Utah and it snows here, I don’t like leaving my car in a ditch so I opted for fwd that I could put my baby seat in the back and commute 65 miles a day for work. I don’t feel like the mustang compares for everyone’s wants or needs. My opinion is a mustangs only good for dyno numbers and sounding louder than it is fast.

Hmm. Pretty sure we get more snow up here in Canada and I'm daily driving an M2. In the past I've daily driven a 1993 MR2 Turbo as well as a 2012 Mustang GT with track pack. Never hit the ditch in any of my cars. That said I probably wouldn't take them into the mountains on a ski trip but for city commuting with decent winter tires RWD cars are totally fine in the winter. Lets not forget people drove primarily RWD cars in the 60's, 70's, and into the 80's with no traction control, ABS, and shoddy tire technology and they got by fine.

Also today's Mustangs are fast. Very fast so I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that they sound louder than they are fast. A Mustang GT with the track pack II or Camaro SS 1LE will run circles around an M4 and several other much more expensive cars. So strange how many people simply refuse to give credit to Ford and GM for delivering more performance/dollar than any other manufacturer.

Sounds like everyone has an opinion, and you know what they say about opinions. They are like assholes because they all stink.

Multiple similar threads have somehow devolved into Mustang Versus threads. I'm thinking that it's the same people every time.

Wins what?
Wins HP/$ is all I was saying. I should have worded it better.

Yeah, this is the first one I've participated in though ;)

I think this thread needs to be changed to "Type R vs Mustang GT with Blower" more comparably priced lol

An eco boost mustang with PP handles nicer than a GT . Plus you can drift around a corner without breaking speed limit . It's a fun car for sure .

but that's not what the OP is asking. OP is asking for opinion on SI and a Type R, not a Type R and a Ford mustang
You're correct the original question was Type R vs Si, but then people gave their opinions on how much better performance wise a $40k civic (Type R) was vs. a $22k civic (Si). Enter the $28K Mustang GT which will smoke the Type R. Just suggestions.
