Mugen Hydrophilic LED mirror, it's here!

(They've also announced the quick shifter and carbon side mirror cover will be available sometime next year)

As far as I see on this page, here is a few features:
- Hydrophilic
- Blue tinted for anti glare
- Curved for wider rear vision
- LED signal capable on the mirror

Now my question would be the compatibility with my existing heated mirrors...

Price, haven't check King yet, but according to RHD Japan, without shipping the price is around $210 (and there's a 6% discount before Jan 7th '19)

Given that the pics show their wired to a higher trim Civic (LED turn indicators are only on high trims in multiple markets, not sure how the JDM does theirs) I would assume that their heated.

But for $200? I would probably pass.

I like the look. 200 bucks for the pair(?) doesn't seem too bad.

Better things to spend $200 on IMO, but still pretty cool.

Good point, yea $200 is a bit too much, I may wait for some big sale or tax return...

I think I can find a pair in my country for half the price with the same function.

You gotta pay the Mugen tax.

I'm going to guess that the Mugen part better fits the CivicX than competitors' offerings.

Now I kinda cooled down and think about it again, I don't think I like the LED turn signal on the mirror that much... Kinda redundant with the mirror cover signal I have on the touring, I guess I'd rather have the blind spot monitoring system instead, which is technically do-able with JDM OEM accessories, just money and time lol
Total of 8 sensors on front and rear bumper, and whatever wire that needs to put together... Nah, don't need that

Edit:
Just found what I thought about the JDM accessories was a misunderstanding, that's just a parking sensor, my bad lol


Still, it'd be nice if there's anything warning the blind spot on the mirror like other cars have

Back to the main topic though, I think it'd be good to wait and see what Spoon would make.

Side note on this Mugen part, I've just searched the part number provided on the site, and both Civic and Insight Mugen site shows up, so I double check it, and they're the same. So it proves that the Insight shares the same mirror with the Civic, in case if there's anything we would want from the Insight

Could someone explain why is this mirror hydrophilic; or someone at the marketing dept just wanted to win the "cool naming contest"?

The insight is based on the 10th gen civic, so I'll not be surprised if you can do a front end or rear end swap between the insight and civic.
Mugen just released a list of parts for the Insight.

For the mirror, you can get the ICB version for $99 or a much expensive one from Seeker.

It's coated with anti-glare resin which is hydrophilic.
