Still debating about tunes and stuff. Would really like the Ktuner V2 but in Canada it's not cheap. BUT i think i saw somewhere on the forum and now i can't find it again.. someone saying they had issues running a tune with aftermarket injen intake. It would cause error codes and limp mode or something. i can't seem to remmeber which post mentioned this and what kind of tune .. but ya.

Is this a common issue?

Thanks!

No, I never seen anyone with that problem on this forum

The CTR had problems with the Injen intake but that had nothing to do with any tuner

The injen actually throws off fueling on the regular 1.5T a fair amount and on the Si 1.5T a LOT. We collected data from multiple users and tested one of these intakes on our standard 1.5T, they were not 100% repeatable results. I don't recommend them unless getting a custom tune.

I already have the intake on. Haven’t had any issues , but I am not tuned .
So I guess base map tunes will not work with it yet eh? That’s unfortunate because I don’t have the money to be looking into custom tunes .
Thanks for the information

You may not see any issues, since you don't have an Si. The non-Si was off a fair amount, but close enough for the ECU to correct under most circumstances. 7-10%. The Sis we've seen up to 30% and they don't run well under high boost.

The Injen wasn't repeatable from one intake to the next, so we won't be adding a calibration for it. Close is not close enough for us to put our name on.

I have an Injen CAI running the dual tune and it works fine. No probs. A custom tune would be best, but you dont have to get one.

I’m in Canada (Ontario) so I have a short ram version. Not sure if the altitude and weather temperature effects anything . Not sure I want to spend almost 1k and it not work properly and mess things on the car . Would have to check out others in the same area and see if they have a similar set up .

Spend 1K on what? An intake? Even in Canadian dollars, an Injen intake wouldnt cost that much. Ive had my CAI on since October of last year and have no probs.

I would highly suggest getting a custom tune. I slapped on the prl cobra and did two mini pulls when the check engine light came on and i was running stage 2 ktuner. But then again, i have a race maf

Race MAF does require a custom tune currently.

Recently ordered your Ktuner V2, just waiting for it to arrive.

What would be by best option as far as intakes go with using your basemaps?

I currently have the Injen SRI, or should I sell it and get another brand? Note: I have the Canadian model sport touring, so CAI's will not fit due to the washer fluid tank

Race MAF options are in the current version of the software now (Because you quoted that post)

Injen we've seen throw off fueling pretty badly on numerous vehicles, more-so on the Si than non-Si. It was not repeatable enough for us to include a standardized calibration for it, so you can always look into custom tuning if you don't find another one. I believe the PRL does support Canadian models if you do end up switching, but you'd need to ask them.

Thanks for the response!,

I'm trying to avoid custom tuning, I have a CVT so I'm assuming the basemaps would be a safer way to go.
Other than PRL (for cost purposes), what other intakes (short ram) have you had positive results/feedback from.

Looking through these forums and google, there seems to be mixed reviews everywhere.

I literally am just looking for enough power to keep up, if not, pass an SI

27Won is also good on fueling from what we've seen. Mishimoto I've heard is also pretty good on fueling, but have only seen their Type-R intake results as far as actual data goes.
