For someone that feels the need to state "I understand how capitalism and free market works and should work, seems better than you do." to someone, you sure seem to have difficulty understanding that smart capitalism is raising the price of a good when demand exceeds supply- this is all ADM is.

They do not sell less cars because of ADM either- they would have stopped doing it by now if they had trouble selling them.
Your last statement is totally false. You really believe that they wouldn't sell more/faster/produce more Type R's without the ADM?

I've talked to Honda reps (non-dealership), they do not like the Dealership ADM. The Type R is not a "limited" production car. They would produce more and sell more without the additional markup that the dealerships are imposing. Why is that so hard to understand? It is also very easy to adjust production on modern assembly lines to meet demand. So the relatively small production numbers are either due to the ADM or lack of demand, you pick your poison.

Nearly Everyone who owns a Honda wants a type r. High demand! There’s only A couple type r’s in an entire city. There’s only one in Dayton Ohio right now. So supply is low. That dealership has a monopoly on type r’s right now. If you want one you have to go there. Therefore they can charge whatever price they want.

Honestly, if they build too many, then the market is saturated and if they build too few, then ADM persists. Can't we all agree that they are building the right amount to maintain the delicate balance of limited production and over-saturation?

I am proof they sell less of them due to ADM. I mean, they're not "technically" selling less because there are only a limited number of them, so no matter what, they will sell what is made. However, if they made more, they would in fact sell more if there was no ADM. Everyone wins. I used to work for a greedy dealership of motorcycles...you wanna talk profits? Ha. It's easy to make $10k profits AND MORE on a single bike due to over inflated perceived value. And the market wouldn't get saturated. Look at all the guys riding their expensive Harleys. Tons of them and they're still willing to pay way too much for them. There would just be tons more people like there are in the Si world driving them. I would have purchased one in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the $5,000 to $20,000 ADM in my state. I even tried the states above and below me. No one would sell at MSRP. Honda should have made more..plain and simple. ADM is price gouging at it's finest....but if you're ok with ADM, you probably are ok with $15.00 popcorn too at the theater.

I’m guessing that the last 4 digit of the CTR vin# indicates the amount Honda built for a specific year. My CTR build date was 08/18 and the last 4 digit on the vin# is around 4###. Then I looked into the 2019 CTR and I noticed that last 4 digit on the vin# are starting in the low hundreds. Just a theory...

My dealer still has their initial 2017 and won't sell it for less than $50K.
My point was they dont sit if buyable. That 17 will never sell at 50k but it is not because no one wants it. Lots of cars sit on lots because no one wants them the R does not have this problem was my point.

Me, too. If I could walk into a local dealer and buy one today for MSRP+TT&L, I'd write them a check. However, I don't want one bad enough that I'm willing to travel across the country or pay above MSRP. Others, however, do, which is why ADM is still alive and well on these cars a year and a half later.

I expect it to die down a bit once the new Supra and STI comes out. Right now, the Type R is the hottest new thing out that's somewhat obtainable depending on what dealership you go to. I expect people to jump ship once the newest hot performance car comes out.

The Supra isn’t a competitor and will start at almost double the price of a CTR it will have no impact on the market.
