I’ll have to see when I get mine done next week...
Service advisor said 1.5 hours tops.
Honda helpline told me it would take 6 hours.
Dealership service adviser said 4 hours or "half a day"
My car was dropped off at 7:00 in the morning, and I got a call just before noon that the car was ready to be picked up.

where did you run your numbers? like to check my car since i have not got anything either
I believe for Canada it's https://www.honda.ca/recalls and for USA it's http://owners.honda.com/service-maintenance/recalls

You could also login to your MyHonda site to check.

Anyone know whether you have to do these campaigns immediately? I haven't received written notice and I want to do the fix after winter (when my next oil change is due) to maximize the free oil change.

The online PDF that shows up if your VIN matches leads to a PDF of a letter from Honda. The interesting part is this (sorry for the bad formatting):

What is the problem? On some 2016-2018 Civic vehicles equipped with a 1.5L turbo direct-injection engine, the engine oil may become overly diluted with fuel and moisture, particularly when driving repeated short trips in very low ambient temperatures. Overly diluted engine oil may cause a variety of symptoms:  Check Engine Light (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) illuminated due to engine misfire;  Check Engine Light (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) illuminated due to excessively rich (high fuel/air ratio) running conditions;  Low oil pressure light illuminated due to moisture freezing in the oil pan;  In exceptional cases, abnormal noise from the engine camshaft due to wear caused by freezing of the rocker arm roller bearings. The amount of oil dilution your engine may have is determined by a balance between the amount of fuel injected into the cylinders that migrates to the oil pan and the ability of the engine to vaporize and burn this fuel as it warms up. Some oil dilution is normal for this engine. This product update includes software updates to the engine’s fuel injection, the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) if equipped, and the climate control unit to limit oil dilution by modifying fuel injection parameters and improving the speed of engine warm up. As part of the update service, your engine oil will be replaced free-of-charge to remove any excessive fuel or moisture, which may have accumulated in the engine oil. In addition to this product update, Honda Canada is extending the warranty on certain engine components to six years from initial vehicle registration, with no mileage limit. This extended warranty will cover engine repairs required as a result of excess oil dilution which may occur before the product update service is completed on your vehicle. Please note the following conditions after the prescribed updates are completed: 1. when operating the heater you may feel increased temperatures at the vents during the engine warm-up period; 2. you may periodically notice that the engine is operating with the oil level above the “upper” mark when checking the oil by the dipstick. This is a normal condition for this class of engine and will have no adverse effects on engine performance or long-term engine durability.

I think Honda did an excellent job on this recall campaign.

I think what Honda Canada says vindicates the strong opinions of posters like Snoopsys

As for the Honda dissers who said Honda'd do nothing or dissed the engine, they can go eat poop

On a side note, here in Canada, the car does take a while for its thermostat to get to "warm range" even when it's only -8 degrees celsius outside and the engine is cold. I am expecting after this recall fix that the thermostat will go up faster

My Si just got done and I've noticed 3 things since:

1. The car warms up much faster
2. The cars idling RPMs are much higher (this could be the solution to the above)
3. And only while cold, the rev hang has gotten a little worse

I feel like the majority of this recall just increases the engine speed as much as possible to eliminate the problem.

BUT WHY HONDA... why more rev hang :/

What's your idle rpm now compared to before? I have a CVT not sure if same as manual but it would idle at 600 with no electronics on (headlight/fans) and 700 with anything on.

Seems like it would use more gas if idle is up..

I have this now, and I don't worry about it. I'm not sure I really need a faster warming up of the engine It warms up fast enough when driving. I hope the engine is not running hotter all the time after these updates. The only thing I really want from this update is the extended warranty.
