Anyone think the 2019 parking brake switch with the light would fit 2016-2018?

Having a manual, I think the addition of the little light on the switch is a much better design so I can know if parking brake is on or not easily.

Someone on here already tried it, and it would not work due to a different harness and connector, probably due to the extra wire for the light.

I think it wouldn't be worth the hassle even if the switch was compatible.

I have nothing against putting in the lighted switch, but what does the light on the switch do that the "BRAKE" light on the dash doesn't do ? Seems to me that the dash light would be more noticeable than the switch light ? I have a manual and use the brake switch all the time, so for me its just automatic that when I start the car I hit the switch to disengage the parking brake.

The dash light is hard to see, especially if the wheel is turned

I was thinking that too. Seems more cosmetic to be honest.

Exactly - plus I was hoping Honda would have engineered it to stay on a few seconds after key-off in case you want to double check it while exiting the car.
Yupp I believe the Accords are like this.

Try moving your head slightly to see the dash light? You'd have to move your head anyway to look down at the button.

Maybe not the answer you want but why not get in the habit of parking brake on when you turn on the car and turning it off when you start up? You should be doing that regardless though.

I give mine a quick check, even after the car is off, by giving the button a quick pull. if its engaged, the light comes on.. if not, it engages the brake :)

I was just thinking about this when I parked last night. The only way for the steering wheel to block that light on the dash is if you don't turn your wheels all the way which means you are not parked correctly. lol

The electric parking brake has a dash icon that says "brake". If you look at your dash, you'll know if it's on.
