The PGM-FI and TCM and ECU mods that Honda is doing here in Canada, gets me wondering, if after the recall service, I flash with K Tuner and I ask K Tuner to reset to "factory map" (or basically restore to previous version) will it rest to what literally the modules were programmed when the car was rolled off the assembly line? Or will it reset to the same programs the dealer installed as part of the recall?
Flash to factory and unlock your Ktuner from the car before taking it in. When you relock your Ktuner it will download factory software currently flashed to the ecu (in the case of the update for this warranty, it would now download the updated factory flash) and you will be fine. Correct @KTuner ?

After you're updated you'll need to contact us when you get it back so we can give you details on downloading the updated software, if there is one!

Interesting. That they update the AC module I think it has to do with the aux fan always running and overcooling and or extending the warm up period with the AC on. The change may run the engine overall hotter in warm temps as well.

Had the chance to drive the car for a day after the product updates. I'm not noticing anything different in terms of perceived performance or fuel economy.

All is good for now, and oil was changed for free.

Mine is getting done today, but Honda Canada and the dealership both mentioned that the oil filter is not covered under the oil change... Just a heads up.

I just changed my oil and don't seem to be significantly affected by oil dilution. Seems like the most beneficial time for me to do this recall would be when I'm due for another oil change, in order to get the most value out of the included free oil change.

Did they replace with fully synthetic oil?

Shady dealers don't seem as common in Canada. Dealership service centers get their oil in bulk, likely from a honda-approved supplier. In short, it's very likely synthetic oil. Considering the dealership would be on the hook for using conventional or a blend while the maintenance minder is programmed for sybthetic, that would make the customer have dirty oil for too long before a change and could cause damage. I'd be surprised if they didn't use what they said they used.

I wonder what the AC unit has to do with fuel dilution? I know there has been word that the AC compressor is defective (the "whirling" noise you get between certain RPMs) but I wonder if they're trying to package these things together to limit exposure?
I'm afraid to report that this recall doesn't do anything for the AC whirling / chirping noise. Had the recall done today, and noise was still present on the drive home.

How big of a job is it to get this ac unit and pcm done? Just ran my VIN and it's part of the recall but I haven't received letter notice yet. Probably don't want to do it until my oil change is due next year since I just changed it.
