they are many of you like this lol
Hey, the oil changes are free, so why not? Like I mentioned in another thread, Honda designed and build the engine, so I figure they know what's best for it.

I was offered free oil changes as well. But I do not have a relationship with the dealership so I do not necessarily trust them to change everything right. I change my own, so I dont have to worry about if the meat heads at the dealership did something completely wrong. Not saying they are doing it completely wrong but still..
Honestly most of the reason I do it myself is because it is therapeutic to do my own car maintenance.

I am putting in Mobil 1 ow-20 with M1-110A oil filter

Hey, free is good. When Toyota gave me free service for 2 years on my Sienna, that is where I took it, until it needed brakes, then I took it to my mechanic ($375 at the Toyota dealer, $160 by my mechanic using the same exact parts). After the 2 years were up, I now take it to my mechanic where he charges $60 using fully synthetic, filter and tire rotation. The dealer is $120 for the same service

Just want to get a idea what everyone is using to lube our lightly beefed up Si turbo engines. I am still in the break in period and from what I read there is or there is no such thing as Honda special break-in oil. Also did not get a answer whether its fully synthetic. I would believe, so but who knows. I plan to use 0w20 amsoil for mine. I may plan on waiting for the service light and then change my oil or do it at 3000 or 4000 miles.
I used Mobil1, 0w20 on my first oil change. I did that change at initial 750 miles and I plan to do another at 1,500 miles. I also changed the Oil Filter to a WIX HD filter. I like the WIX Brand, they are among the toughest, used in heavy industrial applications and now in the light automobile industry. I'm going to take a close look at it after the 1,500 miles, maybe switch back to Honda Oil Filter. I may cut open the Honda filter first to see what it is made of.

As long as the oil used has the API and SAE labels, it is approved for use in Honda automobiles

Agree, I have an '03 Jeep Wrangler that I do all the maintenance I can myself, including oil changes. It's easy, quick, and I for sure don't trust the high-school kids at my local Iffy Lube to do it.

Since i bought my 18 Si brand new. I changed the Engine oil and Tranny Oil to AMSOIL at 5k miles. Every 5-7k miles ill continue to change my Engine oil with Amsoil. And every 3ish oil changes do my Tranny again.

This sounds like me right here lol...working at a dealer so many years saved me a ton because i always had access to lifts and tools. All my cars fluids were serviced by me.

Thats not overkill its preference...i will be doing the same because thats me. A co-worker of mine has a 9th gen Si and uses Mobil 1 and changes every 3k. Its not like its hurting the engine.
