Hey guys, long time lurker here. I finally pulled the trigger two days ago on a 2019 Civic Si Sedan in PWP. I think I got a pretty good deal being in central florida, 24,800 OTD. After driving it to work and back for the first time today I must really say I love the ride! Coming from a Hyundai Genesis Coupe, it feels worlds better.

Thinking about the stuff I want to do to it already and I'm considering going for a storm trooper look with black gloss wraps on the door handles and fin on top. Along side super dark tints(keeping it legal of course:rolleyes:).

Let me know what you guys think of my idea and if you have any suggestions or tips that you did when you first got yours!

Welcome! Congrats on the new ride! After you break it in a little, you should get a KTuner or Hondata for it and see what the car can REALLY do. Verify with Hondata or KTuner that your ECU is on the list though.

Congrats! The new Platinum White Pearl is very nice and I wish they had that color when I bought my Si.

Would tuning it void my warranty?

Tuning in itself does not void warranty and a dealership cannot void your warranty if they found out if it was tuned. Now if the tune caused engine failure, then yes they can deny it. But they would need to be able to prove that. Don't let the dealership scare you. The law has your back. Please see below:

Thank you so much for the info. My other question would be if I do end up tuning my car, would that effect my MPG? I do enjoy getting 38 on the highway currently.

It depends on your driving style. Me personally, I'm not very conservative when driving per se. I'm always in sport mode and always on the 3rd map setting of TSP's Tune. With that being said, on an E40 blend, I'm averaging 32 MPG. If I drove in Normal Mode on TSP's Map 1 (Stock Settings), I'm sure I'd get higher ratings.

Edit: I just realized some of this may be Greek to you. Let me clarify.

TSP ( @Two Step Performance ) offers two off-the-shelf tunes for the 2017+ Si. They are;
  1. TSP Stage 1 Tune - Specifications Here
  2. TSP Stage 2 Tune (Flex-Fuel/E85) - Specifications Here
Each Tune has 3 Maps or settings. They are as follows:
  • Map 1: Factory boost levels and turbocharger response.
  • Map 2: 19psi normal, 21psi "Sport" mode, Improved Turbocharger Response II
  • Map 3: 19psi normal, custom boost level "Sport" mode, Improved Turbocharger Response II
You can switch between the maps with KTuner's On-The-Fly Map-Switching.

So, if you had @KTuner & TSP Stage 1 or 2 Tune (Best Combo IMO) and wanted to maintain your fuel economy for every day driving you could do so. All while having the ability to switch to a higher performance tune on the fly. You could run Map 1 for fuel economy while taking advantage of the rev-hang delete. When you wish to engage in "spirited" driving, you can switch to Map 3.

I hope that helps.

In my honest opinion, if you are concerned about the dealership voiding any kind of warranty on your vehicle, do NOT modify it until the warranty period is over, unless the modification can be easily reversed. Yes, there is such a thing as the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act, but it will not just be a matter of mentioning it if a dealership decides to void your warranty. A tune can be removed, however, if a dealership decides to dig a little bit, they will find out. If you are able to build a good relationship with a dealership's service department, then I say go for it, but you still have to be cautious because things always change when the bill arrives.

Yeah I was thinking about that as well. I'm going to be popping in there today to get a free wash but I'm a little worried about asking them about the tune and if voids my warranty because if they say yes and I decide to do it later then I really have no recourse.
