My car is now around 500km (300miles) old, I tried to floor the car on slightly damped road on third gear, it just kept spinning its front tires with TC on.

It's around 5C degree (40F) here, and yes I still have my stock tires on.

Is this normal?

I am coming from the Subaru world.

Shouldn't be driving with those tires at that temperature.

After you wear out those not so good Continentals, get yourself a set of Michelin PS4s. You won’t see spinning in the wet, maybe even at that temp. But 5C has been my cutoff for these Michelin’s

Would using similar width 18" snow tires be better putting the power down over the stock tires ?

Call me a noob all you want :)

the bigger issue is that the stock tires aren't supposed to be driven in cold temperatures. i believe it says any temperature below 40.

Not really, snow tires don’t have a lot of grip but are designed to work in the cold. Sadly fwd in the cold just doesn’t have as much traction. Get some 18” summer tires for next spring and enjoy it then.

It's the tires.

I bought mine 2 weekends ago and just got the Continental DSW 245/35/20's put on. Huge world of a difference. I was getting wheel spins before and now I can't make them spin for the life of me. I haven't risked pushing too hard around corners but I can feel that it doesn't handle as well around bends. It's been around 40 degrees in my area since I purchased, about the same as you.

Now I'm just that much more excited to see how this thing performs in May with the summers back on.
