Hello, everyone. I installed a Pioneer MVH-2300NEX head unit in my car today. Everything works great with the exception of my backup camera. I wired it up as the directions said and I had no luck with it. I’m driving a 2018 Hatch Sport manual transmission. I’d like to hear from anyone who has done the same and if they encountered issues as well. I’m not sure if there’s something I have to do that wasn’t put on the instructions of the XSVI-1731-Nav harness.
I wired the switched power wire to the 12v-6v wire. The reverse gear wires were connected to each other (purple-to-purple).

Sorry in advance...I’m sure there’s a ton of threads it’s just hard to sift through all of them to find what I’m looking for.

You might make sure all of the wires are populated on both sides of the plug. I seem to recall that you don't need the xsvi harness on the LX and sport trim (cars equipped with the 5" screen. You can use the 70-1731 harness, which may have slightly different pin configuration. My guess is that the reverse side isn't getting power to the radio, camera, or both. An alternate source for reverse power is lt green wire a green 22 pin plug above the fuse panel. It looks like the second pin on the top row, but confirm with a meter before using it.

I also have the 70-1731 that I ordered from Crutchfield to be safe but the pins are identical to the one on the Nav harness for the camera. I’m going to contact them and see if they can lead me in the right direction. The backup camera seems like the biggest issue I’ve seen when installing an aftermarket head unit.

Did you ever figure this out? I installed a Pioneer MVH-1400NEX in mine and the backup camera works, though the view angle is really wide. I did not change voltage--just plugged red to red, black to black, plugged in the harness and connected the RCA video plug to the head unit.

I used this kit, but it came with an extra plug (not shown in auction) for the backup cam and absolutely no instructions. It appears to be a repackaged Metro 70-1731.

Yup! Everything is working perfectly now. I even installed a Pioneer power pack amp.

What needed to be done to retain full use of the steering wheel controls? Finding a clear answer seems next to impossible on the Internet.

I just installed a JVC unit and have the same issue with the backup cam. It works but it’s defaulfed to wide-angel :( it’s very annoying. Did you ever figure yours out?
