Aren't all you gents glad you waited for the 2019 model year after seeing the updates and upgrades?
I mean it now comes with a real "VOLUME KNOB" and upgraded infotainment system, and some differences to the climate controls.
I despise an on screen volume slider.....it's almost worth upgrading to the 2019 just for that volume knob, and definitely for the transmission fix.
Also, I've read that the new 2019's have a different part number for the transmission, so hopefully they have fixed all the transmission issues.
Plus....that Sonic Grey Pearl paint looks amazing and is definitely the way to go.
I like a paint that changes color in different lighting conditions.
So the moral is....."Good things come to those who wait", and "patience is a virtue."

What's wrong with the transmission?

Apart from the Volume control, and the touch buttons down the side, what is so UPGRADED about the Infotainment system .. same old Android 4.? slow slug it was last year.

I have put a couple thousand miles on the car.

And I have not touched the volume control on the head unit once.

I’m so glad I got the 2018, cause I got it for the rest of the 99% of the content.

Oh and I’m glad you paid extra for that shit, someone has to.

Geez, you can wait forever and there's always gonna be something better. The way I also see it, those "better" things will also come with a creeping price hike or some other setback. So now, soon, or later, it's all about the same; really is about the personality of the consumer if they wanna be smug/sarcastic/braggy about having "newer" or "better" things because they didn't get it at a time equivalent to others. In the CTR's case, waiting is neither a win nor a lose at this point.

Thx for the troll post so I can finally get that off my chest.

Hell has no fury like a 2018 R owner's scorn :bonk:

Those that got a 2018 R have had up to a year of fun driving and enjoyment -- worth far more than a little plastic Knob !!

Honda Civic 10th gen I am sooooooooo glad I waited for the 2019 Type R. travel-tourism-car-development-develop-meters-parking_meters-mfln91_low

I've been driving my 2018 for over a year, have literally NEVER touched the on-screen volume slider. I adjust volume with the steering wheel control. The volume knob and physical buttons are an incremental improvement, I guess, but not worth a thousand bucks.

Dude... what was that all about?
What are you.... like 7 years old?
Ever heard of the word “respect”?

I have a 2019 R coming but I didn’t wait for an “infotainment system knob”. Didn’t even get that grey pearl.
Who purchases a Type R for a volume knob anyways??
Well you apparently did...

I currently drive a 2017 Si and never once used the “volume slider”. Hardly a deal maker at all.

PS, have fun fiddling with your little
Knob
