Yeah did it myself.

Was pretty simple, just took a bit of time.
Watched a few Youtube vids, it's all the same. Take the time to prep.

Foam cannon washed, dried with my leaf blower.
Did a thorough claybar and decontamination.
Then applied the ceramic, which was easy. Apply, wipe/buff off. For me, I found that 2.5 minutes was good to let it sit before wiping off. Warmer temps, I'd imagine I'd let it sit for less. Second coat I waited 3 hours, and only let it sit 30s to 1min before wiping off.

Looks amazing, and water sure does bead off as expected. But more than anything, dirt/caked on brake dust etc easily rinses off with water, where it definitely did not before.

Bought the cquartz off amazon.
That's a very good thing that water and dirt easily rinse off considering you live in Vancouver where it rains 8 months of the year.
Now you can let mother nature clean your car every time it rains.
Enjoy

Cant speak to the optimal temperature for applying ceramic, but if you dont want to machine polish you should atleast do an iron decontamination and clay bar to get all the micro deposits off the car. They will hinder how well the coating will stick. People machine polish the car to get the imperfections and swirl marks out bef0re coating. Once you coat you are coating all of those imperfections with it. Ceramic is hard to get off once cured as well. If you are worried for winter and dont want to go through the whole machine polishing. You can still decontaminate, clay bar and apply a good wax and sealant onto your paint by hand to protect it for the winter and use that time to practice your machine polish on other cars or junk yard panels so you'll be ready to dive in during the spring/summer.
If you don't want to risk coating your paint yourself, I highly recommend washing, then clay bar and finally using a paint sealant called Rejex.
The great thing about Rejex is that it lasts much longer than regular car wax and sealants.
Rejex can last as long as 6-8 months.
I would put 2 coats on for extra protection.

have you driven the car like that?
No, I still have the original summer tires on the car. At 40 degrees or less the tires skip. I just ordered Continental DWS 245-35-20’s to put on the OEM rims. Even after I get them installed I wouldn’t risk driving in the snow.
