not meant to get off the topic, but r u seeing any issue like grinding at this high mileage or issues gone away at this high mileage? for some of the reported issues on here, i think they may go away after the car is fully break-in, therefore i ask the questions.

how does the car feel after 20k?

Just looked through this thread, Do I have the highest mileage CTR on here? Purchased Feb. 18, currently at 27,000 miles!!!

Purchased July 2018! She is my DD w/ 4 days of commute then garage kept. Just hit 5050 miles. Changed out to a winter set of wheels/tires in October since the PNW can get cold and I didn't trust the OEM's. Still waiting for my first oil change...

2nd gear feels a little notchy at times, but much less than my 8th gen Si. Planning on swapping transmisson fluid with Amsoil at next oil change, this greatly reduced it on my Si.

As far as how it feels at 20k, fantastic!!! I really enjoy driving this car, hence the high mileage. My original plan was to keep driving the Si as a daily, but I think I may have only driven it 3 times since I got the Type-R.

I took my CTR to my local Honda dealership to get my oil and trans fluid switched out to Amsoil and they told me switching oil is fine, but I would void my warranty if I switched the transmission fluid to Amsoil. You may want to inquire about that.

Yea they don't know what they're talking about. More than likely they are confused with the automatic transmission fluid, which this would be the case for. If hypothetically a manual transmission needs replacing, they will have a hard time proving a top notch, time and performance tested product like Amsoil, Motul, etc caused the failure. I only spoke with one manager regarding this and he said the same thing at first, which I reminded him the car was a manual and he said " Oh yea, you're fine then, that's only for the automatic transmissions" At least call around and talk to a Honda service manager who knows what they are talking about before you let them touch your car.

Products spicifically for the FK8 type R as per Motul website:
https://www.motul.com/us/en-US/lubr...c0c3477c?type_name=Civic+Type-R,+FK8+(2015-+)

On top of that unless Amsoil is some weird color I don't know about all transmission fluid comes out looking and smelling the same. They'll never know what you put in there if you do it yourself

I’m bumping this since it’s mid 2019 now, and I’m sure a lot of us have put on some miles since they last posted. If not...:bat:

I’m at 18,592 miles - bought the car in March of 2018 and it’s my daily driver with a ~31 mile commute one way.
