Oh, what does it mean "closing to public"? He stills keeps the shop and accepts appointments only?? If there is a sign-up list, I would definitely put my name on it since I trust Ron's work.

I did my rear mount, pretty simple install, downpipe looked pretty easy as well. They can do it no problem.. but he is closing shop to the public in roughly 6 months so he can have more family time and enjoy building cars again.

Idk, he hasn't really said much, most likely keeping it open to friends family and certain appointments.

@impulseg112 Hey, here is a thread for MN locals.

Just FYI - kinda answer my own question from awhile back, just found out that "Poquet" has a service center in Lakeville and I spoke to one of the service managers there who seems to know quite a bit about cars and a bit about FK8 as well. Poquet sells a lot of european lux cars so i believe they know how to handle and take good care of cars.

To my surprise, there is a bigger Evo local community here in TC than a CTR which is basically nonexisting right now :(
I know this was posted a while ago but it doesn't surprise me. While evo's were spendy, they were accessible and didn't have insane markups. The R is reasonable at 36k but one, dealers are marking them up so high they aren't selling, and two, you have a lot of evo owners that are content right now. I think over the next few years the R support might grow. I mean personally I'd love an R but it wasn't in the current budget. That's not to say in 5 years it wouldn't be, if they still make one.

Hmm...:( MN folks need to be more active, or we need more MN members on here ;)

Anyways, I went to Walser for mounting a spare tire for my CTR. While I was there, I asked the service advisor whether they have any CTR specialist in their shop, he frankly told me that they don't! :confused1: And they rarely see any CTR in for servicing.

Wow, we can cross out Walser
I like luther in hopkins

I do everything myself. I'm not a mechanic. I just do it as a hobby. If you want to mod your car. Fast life performance is a good place. I brought my car there to do my clutch because I don't have the propers tools to do the task

Minneapolis checking in! Just picked up a new-to-me 2016 EX-T from Walser Honda last week. "Downgraded" from a 2018 HR-V EX that I was leasing. My commute situation drastically changed and leasing just isn't something that's going to work with me, so I got in with Walser right before they ended their lifetime powertrain warranty program. I love having a Civic again, and as much as I liked my 2012 Civic EX that was tragically totaled with only 40k miles on it, this one is so much sleeker and sportier.

This is my second time buying from Walser and both experiences were phenomenal. My first car from them was a 2009 Fit Base during that Cash for Clunkers program. I was young and had no idea what I was doing and never felt taken advantage of.

I've also had experiences with Richfield Bloomington Honda and Luther Brookdale Honda. RB Honda was fine. I wouldn't be opposed to going there again, especially since they're about 5 minutes from work. My Luther Brookdale experience was super high pressure and part of what lead me to getting this car in the first place.

History:
Walser - 2009 Fit Base - replaced my 1992 Jeep Cherokee Sport
RB Honda - 2012 Civic EX - to replace the Fit that was totaled - not my fault!
RB Honda - 2015 Fit EX - to replace the Civic that was totaled - again not my fault!
Luther Honda - 2018 HR-V EX - I went in to get an appraisal on my car and without even knowing much about the HR-V, left in a leased one. It was fine but I absolutely did not want to lease a vehicle and was unprepared to get into something new...the whole thing was stupid and I felt really taken advantage of. I know people that work at the dealership so I don't want to disparage them as a whole but the people I interacted with were unpleasant.
Walser - 2016 Civic EX-T - Leasing does not work for me, the trade in value for my car was enough to justify doing this, and now I have something that I love and can also pay off haha.

Wow, you are a big Honda fans  Apparently, you never had any trouble with your hondas in winters here, did you use winter tires or all season?

My two loves are Honda and Jeep I've actually never had winter tires, and I was more nervous driving the HR-V than any of the other ones. Life on a budget... next winter I'm going to invest in some decent winter tires, though. I've been driving for 16 years and I've only ever had all seasons.
