This is nothing but a seat of the pants observation...

It seems to me while the Ktuner tuner is more lag free and offers better acceleration around town compared to Hondata, high speed, highway WOT seems slower.

I'm talking acceleration at speeds above say 75-80 mph. Yes I realize this is higher than most speed limits. Does the fact that the Hondata tune allowed me to up the torque limit in the higher RPM range (3500rpm and above) and Ktuner doesn't play into this?

I do most of my driving on higher speed highways and the acceleration difference is noticeable. That's the only thing I've found where I liked the Hondata tune better. Otherwise, Ktuner for the win.

Will Ktuner ever tweak/increase higher RPM torque limits to improve this?

It could be that the way I setup my custom Hondata tune, I upped the boost and torque from 3500 to 5500rpm. Maybe the Ktuner tune feels less powerful on the top end because the power delivery is smoother from low to high rpm?

This definitely isn't something imagined. I drive the same roads daily.

Ok, so your post says the Hondata tune was better on top, but now you're saying it was a tweaked custom tune. That's not really comparable at that point. You'd likely need to tweak the KTuner tune as well.

Yes, it's smoother. We discussed this in a different thread.

To compare tunes, you need some numbers. Take some precise GPS equipment and do logs (like racelogic vbox).

Hey Ktuner,

Would this be the proper way to up boost a bit? Say I wanted a bit more power from 3500 to 5500 RPM...

The boost table is pretty straightforward. I upped the boost from 3500-5550 from 21.0 to 22.5 psi.

I changed the header of the final boost target from 22 to 23. And the rest of the column from 22.5 to 23.5 ...

Is that the basic idea?

How do you change the boost level? I been running ktuner all.summer but only run the base 19/21 boost since I dont know how to make adjustments without fear of messing up my engine

As I understood, you request more torque from engine. If engine need more boost, it will try to keep bigger boost to give you that torque. It depends on temperatures, ignition, fuel etc.

We're kind of on our own. Ktuner only recommends the amount of PSI in the base tunes. Not that going a bit higher is unsafe but they won't give out numbers.

Yeah, we're good holding what we have. I'm sticking with stock, maybe a pound or 2 above on peak psi, not much known other than what we will hear from other's running high tunes. We are already hearing the limits on the SI clutch, not much heard about CVT yet. Stock handles kind of soft for comfort and that's great for commute. Next on the list is upgrade suspension, stiffer tires (Conti's are really good at normal highway speed a little flexy at 85+), rear torsion bar maybe.
