I do have this issue and it is quite annoying. I thought my ears were playing tricks initially but there is definitely a grumbling noise on decel. It's a pretty terrible noise actually and kinda hope something is wrong so it can be fixed. I just dont want to do the dealership dance and risk techs doing who knows what to my car.

Can anyone give me the part number from the wastegate actuator?

I have a friend who is lookig into an internal diagram. He works as a robotics engineer and wants to help us solve the noise problem. Long shot but we will give it a shot..
That part might only be available as part of the turbo assembly which would be $1200. I couldn't find is as a separate part but maybe someone else can.

damn guys i have this same noise with my si; however, my noise happens when i accelerate and it stops immediately as soon as i take my foot of the gas.

edit* and i cant get it to do it in neutral or sitting still. i have to be accelerating with a load on the engine and its most noticeable at 4000 and higher rpm.

what is this shit?

Well the kind of good news is that I've got about 11K on my car and this noise still persists but the car is running fine.

Could be the electronic actuator rattling. Mechanical actuators have a spring inside them to keep tension on the wastegate at all times. This tension keeps the wastegate from rattling. Since we have an electronic actuator, there is no spring so therefore no consistent tension on the wastegate.

Not the case here.
It is the wastegate actuator but on the inside.
It's not a rattle either but more of a metallic metal on metal sound...

Anyone find a solution ?

This makes the car sound cheap as fuck
I hear you. Honda seems not to give a fuck about their enthusiasts!!! This is getting ridiculous!!
They keep on telling us that this is a characteristic of the car??? WTF?

I uploaded a video of how this noise sounds under the hood!
We ran the car on the lift in 2nd and 3rd gear and we diagnosed the noise with a spethoscope.
It comes deom inside of the actuator.... I do hope that someone will figure out how to fix this....

I'm at 12,500 miles and still have the sound. It hasn't gone away but I have gotten used to it. Just part of owning the FK8 I guess.

I actually hate the brake squeal more than this sound.

have you tried reaching out to Honda with this video? i mean the manufacturer, not a dealership. you can create a ticket through the Honda website, i've done it before regarding this issue, but was told the same bs that the dealership told me, that it was the "floating calipers". but my point is, Honda did get back to me, and it didn't take that long for them to respond. if you do reach out, i would recommend linking this thread, as well as your video.
