If you don’t mind how much was it an can you take a pic if you have free time been wanting to get it nervous about driving around with out itI got the si spare tire kit installed. While it is nice to know i now have a spare tire, I am not sure I like giving up so much room in the trunk. I cannot fit some stuff I normally put in there.

Man... This spare tire issue has bothered me since May 2017, as soon as the 10th gen Si specs came out. Then I posted this, 2 weeks before I bought my Si... that didn't go anywhere. Then the order mentioned above, that I placed back in February '18, kept getting delayed by Honda month after month after month.Where did you get it?! As for space, I've been carrying around the spare tire (tire only) in the trunk to see if I should just go with that, instead of buying the whole kit and raising the floor... The jury's still out on that.
Considering how little a spare, jack & associated goods are used, I’d be looking in a boneyard for take outs from a wrecked 8th or 9th gen...Man... Finally a few days ago I cancelled it and pulled the trigger on the wheel, jack+tools, and the foam insert for the coupe (which is much less bulky/looks much better than the sedan's), and it got delivered within just a couple of days.
Total w/shipping was a pretty manageable $294.90
(Bought the tire earlier from tirerack.com; had it installed on the wheel at NTB for $27.)
So first I kept the spare just laying around in the trunk, but it was sliding around during acceleration/maneuvering. Then this morning I took out the trunk cover and the original foam insert under it (with the inflation kit), the tire fit right into the well that was designed for it, and that of course put a stop to the sliding issue. Pretty sure I'm gonna keep it this way. May not look as pretty or "proper", but I don't really care how my trunk looks inside, as long as it's clean and functional -- and with this setup it is both. I believe this to be the least space-consuming solution possible for carrying the spare; it barely sticks above the trunk floor level, and the rest of the well can be used for tools and such.
So, I'm finally a happy camper now -- my baby got (spare in the) back!!
Thought about it, but wanted to stick to OEM parts (the wheel). It's just my OCDConsidering how little a spare, jack & associated goods are used, I’d be looking in a boneyard for take outs from a wrecked 8th or 9th gen...
Likely way less than $300.
Well, I'm finally done with buying and installing the spare tire kit for my Si sedan.
The part was on back order for a few months, every time I called them I was told that they had supplier issues.
I placed the order on 9/1/2018 and it was delivered on 11/23.
I paid $317.39 including shipping to Fairfax, VA. On which I received a $50 refund. No idea why.
Unfortunately, the spare wheel adapter was slightly damaged in delivery, so I ordered a new one from eBay $9.70
The tire itself was T125/70D-17 FALKEN FK-090 SL which I got from tire rack for $59.15. This thing sat in storage for 2 months before the kit showed up. Both were ordered on the same day.
Lastly, At the gas station opposite my house, mounting the tire to the rim was $15.
Here are a few photos of the final install.
The only downside, trunk space is significantly lesser. But if I need trunk space I will just use my Honda Pilot.
I can imagine AAA turning up to help change a wheel, or even to help with the foam inflater, but I cannot see them being able to turn up with a suitable wheel for any car.Its interesting how much higher the tire and jack tool tray sits, i had considered it myself for the time being i have AAA gold and fix a flat slime brand. I keep a cordless impact gun in the truck, i still might grab a spare for long trips and the jack from LQK parts online, local junk yard or ebay.
Nice video, and I 100% agree with you.here is a quick video I made a while back when I put my spare in if you guys want to take a look at it
