So I wired up my dash camera last night. Before I did the install, I snapped a photo of the original. The install went fine but looking at the owner's manual, some of the slots that are supposed to be empty have fuses in them. For example:
Fuses 10, 18, 23, and 36 are supposed to be blank according to the owner's manual but they are filled up with 20, 10, 10, and 20 amp fuse respectively.

Fuse 32 is for the "Front Seat Heater", which the Type R doesn't have, is the only 1 that was empty.

#1 fuses starts at bottom left in photo below:

Can you guys take a look and confirm this? 20amp fuse is quite high for a slot that should be empty.

Also, if they are supposed to be there, what are they for? The manual doesn't say.

I used 2 add-a-circuit. 1 for constant on (fuse number 24) and 1 for accessory on (fuse number 1)

Could be spares:dunno:
Don't think so, my powerprobe says otherwise, it detects ground when vehicle is not on.

Can someone post a pic of their fuse box?

My R has fuses in those exact spots too. When I did my dash cam and radar detector hardwiring I was dumbfounded by the fact that there were fuses in slots that have no business being there. What I suspect is that since our cars are on a global platform that the wiring and fuses are probably universal for our cars regardless of trim. So even though we don't have heated seats that the main interior wiring harness probably has a free end for car that would have heated seats (i.e sport touring). This would seem silly to put in extra wires and fuses into a car that never had these features since it adds cost (copper) and unnecessary weight but it probably doesn't make financial or manufacturing sense for Honda to build harnesses and fuse boxes specifically for each trim line.

Case in point look at the old school Hondas that didn't come with a CD player or factory a/c. All the wiring plugs were there and all you had to do was install the appropriate sub harnesses and components and plug in a fuse and voila!

It does look like fuse #29 is for the 12V socket. If you pull out the fuse, you can easily see whether it is blown.

Any luck figuring this out? Did you replace the Front ACC Socket fuse with new and it start working again?

I'm thinking of using a fuse tap (add a circuit) for my remote turn on lead (amplifier and DSP) and using the Front ACC Socket would be ideal...
Another problem I'm concerned about is that it doesnt look like a true switched circuit; the Front ACC Socket fuse slot shows as a 20Amp switched circuit but it doesnt lose power as soon as the car is turned off.
The fuse slots that have their amperage listed in brackets (20A) like the Rear ACC Socket are supposed to be slots that have constant power whereas the slots with amperage not in brackets like slot #1 ACCESSORY 10A does lose power when car is off and not in On/ACC mode.

I connected my dash cam this week to one of the Front Camera Sensor. So far no issues. I know there’s 2 fuses that have the same description. I’m pretty sure the R doesn’t have the front sensor camera so that’s why I took that 5A fuse and plugged the one for the camera there.

No, it will not clear out the code. It's most likely programmed into the BCM (body control module) to look for voltage/signal and if it doesn't see it, a light will illuminate and set a code.
