There isn't a sedan forum or a coupe forum either. There's really no need. The base engine models are all basically the same mechanically with some small differences. The reason the Si and Type R have their own section is that they are both substantially different.

I was surprised at that too when i joined the forum, I figured there would at least be one for the sport hatch but oh well, if the did create one however that would be an awesome place to spend my lunch breaks at work, just my two cents.

I agree. We should have our own! Even if the engines are the same for hatch/sedan/coupe, we should still have one to talk exterior modifications (and just to see other hatches). :)

Agreed theres many times i spend hours going through the forum just trying to find something specific for the hatchback or just want to discuss our car with others who have the same

So how do we get that started? Moderators, can you create that link?

Guys, should we start a Coupe forum? A Sedan forum? A 2.0 base model forum? A Blue car forum? A CVT forum? A 6 speed forum? Continue reading for my point...

I've run online forums including a car based one for nearly 20 years. There's a fine line between having too many specialized sub forums and too few. It's a balancing act.

I think whoever set up CivicX has done a really good job with the choice of forums. It isn't that big of a pain to use search and look for "hatchback spoilers" or "hatchback wheels" or hatchback exhaust mods" or "hatchback pictures" etc. is it?

For the record, I own a sedan and don't think we need a sedan forum. ;)

Perfectly explained.

Or there could just be a stickied thread for each variant. Not an entirely separate forum.

OK, here's an idea. No separate forums but what about topics like...

"What did you do to you sedan today?”
"What did you do to your coupe today?”
"What did you do to your hatchback today?”

Those would replace the generic stickied "What did you do to your Civic today?”

Would that work? Just an idea to throw out there.

I completely agree with the fact that too many subcategories is not a good thing, it gets cluttered and im not saying it should even be done im just saying as an individual who has a sport i like to see the hatches and primarily the sport. Sometimes it can be difficult to find because not everything always gets tagged as hatch or sedan but rather just civic and i spend hours looking at different aftermarket parts to only ever end up seeing sedan stuff. I think that the small topic section is actually the best idea instead of a whole subcategory. However all that said as much as I personally would enjoy that i can understand if it was never done because like it has been pointed out nothing is special about our individual hatches, the typeR is our special trim and place in the forum it just sucks that most aftermarket peices for the typeR cannot be used on our normal hatches.
