Took the r on a little trip to go check out the Corkscrew swamp sanctuary down near Naples Fl in Collier County.

Firstly, the journey itself was pretty interesting. I was cruising around 75 on 75 for the majority of the 2 hour (one way) trip but every sports or sporty car on 75 must have seen me from miles. It was like a caravan of sporty cars all challenging me. It was fun but there were some close calls because of challengers and chargers thinking they can handle weaving at speed. No accidents but there were some minivans that were terrified. I did not play along but it was fun watching everyone in sports cars become immediately intimidated by my little civic that they felt the need to downshift to the loudest available gear and floor it as they pass me. I'll consider it sort of my "21 gun salute on Veterans Day" (former Army here) and a sign of respect. There were lots of camaros and mustangs (ironically the camaros behaved whereas mustangs did not). A beautiful blue bmw m2 came up next to me. We swapped thumbs and he left to go play (maybe he was hoping I would).

I also had a close encounter with another CW type r. I was excited by this for some reason and got over to let him get side by side to swap thumbs and whatnot but he passed me aggressively wuthout even a look...oh well.

The car performed as expected. Seats were comfy, gas mileage was decent at about 28-29mpg. Car was efforless in all situations. I love how I can accelerate in 6th quite brisky while building no boost (this is a big difference between the r and the si).

Cruise control is probably the worst performing of any car Ive owned though. I cant seem to "decel" to save my life. I would be cruising at 78, hit the "decel" button abd it would feel like it dropped but then would go right back to where it was at 78. I had to hit the button like 4 times to drop a mph. I ended up just cancelling and resetting. I can live with that.

On to the swamp and pictures. If you like nature hikes and such, this is a pretty cool place. Its a couple of miles of elevated wooden boardwalk through a few different ecologies. Lots of birds, gators, raccoons, etc. Lots of peace and quiet with muffled nature in the background. Its the environment that I imagine when Im listening to relaxio on a plane or to go to sleep. Definitely recommended. Now for pics...

Nice pictures! Drive sounds like fun. I'm from the Tampa area and down to hit local road-trips like this any weekend. Let me know if you're up for another Swamp-trek!
