To elaborate straight from car and driver

"The Bullitt is a driver’s car, but you’ll need to wring it out to know the full depth of its capability. Catch it a gear too high, below 4000 rpm or so, and this engine can feel soft"

anyone can read the brochure but reality wins.

I think you are taking it all personal. the GT feels like pig weights 600 pounds more, and the torque curve comes in later on the GT.
I'm speaking from experience. I had a 2015 Mustang GT which had 435hp and I own a 17 Si and I'm telling there is no comparison. Also, the GT is quite nimble and an Si will have its ass handed to it. This isn't the 70s, people need to get it through their thick skulls that these cars are world class handlers/performers. I don't need to argue with you, the numbers/facts speak for themselves . You need to face that fact that your Si isn't the fastest car out there period.

I’m sorry? Since when are mustangs world-class handlers?o_O Yes the new generation is great. I’ve driven a few of them and they are awesome. However, when handling comes to mind, there are a lot of other cars that I and other people would think of first.

Since the Si has about a 600-700 pound (EDIT:make that almost a thousand pounds:eek:) advantage, handling has to be given to the Si. And if you wanna get technical, car and driver has the Gt pulling .96 Gs on the skid pad, and the Si .97. Soooooo...:confused1:

Well I agree they handle well. For a mustang. Better than the old solid axle mustangs. BUT. It’s still a big boat. Would I have one? Yeah! But there are plenty of other less expensive cars that handle better simply because they are much smaller.

This I'd one instance where size doesn't matter lol. The GT PP2, or the Camaro 1LE in particular can can with M cars, and Porsches on a track which is a totally different league that the front drive econo-box Civic. And no, that's not me insulting the Cvic, I have one and have owned several. It's really apples to oranges.

eh, no point in continuing further. He's set on his ways. Meanwhile, I'll just enjoy my SI and not give a Mustang a second thought..

Fast cars are lost on US highways anyways.

Ok now you’re changing the argument. We were talking about the mustang gt. That’s it. If you wanna start talking about different cars or adding mods, you could do the same on the Si. But the fact remains, stock Gt and stock Si, the Si handles better. Its all in the numbers.

I traded my 2017 in for a 2018 type r. Si was a great car, but I wanted more power and more styling. Everyone likes to hate on the type r, but being a 22 year old, I’d say it’s perfect.

Lets get something straight folks....the SI is NOT a FAST car....it's "quick" and fun to drive, you want FAST....the Type R is FAST.

And yes a late model Mustang GT will hand the SI it's ass!!

The SI is only 0-60 in like 6.5 seconds stock........that's only as fast as a 3.6 V6 3,800 lb Dodge Challenger and that car is only 305hp.
It FEELS faster to me but that's because it's on the small side and light at 2,900lbs.

BTW...the Camaro, Mustang and even the Challenger handle REAL well for larger cars, it's amzing how well they handle...they do NOT feel as heavy as they are, I've driven them all.
I used to drive cars for a car dealer and have driven all kinds of vehicles, some hundreds of miles that I went to pick up.

I love my 2018 Civic Si. I think it's a great car in all areas. My only guess would be those people can't afford it or get tired of driving a manual. Like most millennials they want everything easy so they probably end up getting an automatic.
I guess i'm not like most because I like the manual or else driving is boring. plus I know that most millennials like it easy with automatic and won't be able to steal my car when they can't even drive it.

I have a 17 Si and probably will keep it for 2-3 years depending on trade in values etc. I regret not getting some kind of hatchback since I do so much driving with multiple people and their hockey equipment in my car. I would upgrade to a Type R but it's too gaudy for me and there's no friggin way I'm dropping that kind of money on a car that has this infotainment in it. The infotainment in this civic is barely acceptable for a $20k car, never mind a $40k (CAD) one.

Front runners for my next car would probably be an Elantra GT Sport or a GTI autobahn (on a lease). I'd like to consider an Accord as well but hockey sticks in a sedan is just a pain, so it limits my options.
