Hypothetically, which engine would you rather build up as a DD (but can also be tracked, or whatever you want to do) if you had the choice:

A 9th gen Si K24Z7 with a turbo, or the current Type R K20C1 turbo'd? (Chassis preference aside)

Granted the K24 would need a lot more comparative block work to sustain boost, but I feel like it has a lot of potential with the larger displacement and higher revs.

What do you all think?

K20 is already built for turbo. K24, well I've never looked at what people did with that motor turbo wise, but the old 8th gen K20 could reliably handle 500 whp on stock internals.

This guy's 9th gen is actually what inspired me to ask the question. He's making 500 hp too on his K24

I voted k24z7

main reason is the recipe for power is already known, the type r motor is a bitch to tune and has a lot of unknowns. also I could build a higher hp k24 than a k20 for cheaper at least right now. Would my answer change 5 years from now? Maybe... but for now k24.

Didn’t even think about the cost difference of the build, but thats a really good point. I think the chassis many be a little lighter as well (correct me if I’m wrong) so you’d be able to move that weight faster as well
