Shiny piano black gearbox cover scratches so easily. Solution?

Ive considered pullin that part off and plastidipping it but leaving the letters. Ive also thought about making a matte black cover that would fit right over it, again leaving the letters visable. Anyone tried something like that?
Why don't you all put X-pel PPF on it. Or any other clear wrap. The product in the previous posts' link will allow dirt and dust and other debris to enter those holes and then cause even worse scratches. You have to use a clean microfiber cloth and use little to no force when wiping it down. Must be very careful.

You need to use a very fine finishing polish when dealing with these types of finishes. In most cases I would use Carpro Essence or Optimum Hyper Polish for any piano black trim on vehicles. (sorry not the greatest example picture) But this is the exterior trim on an Audi Q5 which would be very similar to the interior piece on our cars.
