I'm waiting on a 2019 Civic Type-R. Should be arriving here in Mahwah, NJ tomorrow (or sometime this week). It's Rallye Red. Still have a 2018 in the same color. Both are being sold for sticker. The 18 has some dealer installed accessories, but I could probably get those discounted with a solid offer.

The 19 has no dealer add-ons, but may get them once it hits the showroom floor.

My direct line is 201-574-1072 and I work at Mahwah Honda on the NJ/NY state border.

My name is Eddie Isabella.

Good luck in your search for the 19's this year. If I can help, let me know.

Hi Eddie, would you be willing to ship cross country?

I contacted Fisher Honda in Boulder and I was told they are scheduled to receive one in May, and told that it would be the Sonic Gray but that wasn't confirmed. I asked about add-ons, etc. and they said the R will get the Colorado Protection Package which includes: 3M Clear Mask, 3M Window Tinting, and Eco-Block exterior and interior protection with a 5-year written guarantee. He also said that they aren't taking deposits at this time, and also have a $698 dealer handling fee.

Seattle area update for those looking to buy.
I reached out to see how our local market was doing.

Bellevue, Klein, Kirkland, Seattle and NW Honda all dreaming at $5k over for 18/19 CTR’s. They claim waiting list and or cars sell the day the get a vin for $5k over.

Anyone looking to buy boycott these dealers and either look elsewhere or pay $1500 and ship from out of state!

Claim they have wait lists and that they sell immediately. Yet here we are with them sitting on the show room for weeks at a time. Smh

Got a reply from Eduardo More of Cerritos (with 11 CTRs on the lot), he wants $39,000 for this build, I asked him to price out the add-ons:

"Hello spyder90390

here it is the breakdown
wheel locks..152.00
type R trunk tray...148.00
body side moldings....383.00
diamond fusion....999.00
alarm system....1495.00
paint and fabric protection...1199.00"
Thanks for the info.

I had been keeping an eye on Norm Reeves Cerritos the past few months as well, because they do usually have inventory (or sit on it from what I've seen). I stopped by there 3rd week in September when they had 3 CBP, 1 PMM, 1 RR, and and 1 CW. No markup sticker on the windows, and the sales guy was claiming no add-ons. I'm sure he was a low level salesman and they would've let me know about the add-ons if I sat down to discuss terms. They sold the red and white in October, then I saw that they got the additional inventory to get their total up to 11 a week or two ago.

I think they would definitely be more willing to do a deal on the CBPs. Those are going on six plus weeks there now. If someone went in and was serious about buying now, and not break on MSRP, I think they would deal. Or if you offered invoice ($33,095 per KBB.com) plus the add-ons, which would be $37,481, they might deal.

We'll see. I'm heading up that way this weekend. Might sneak away from the Disney family weekend, and see what happens.

I definitely agree though, buying last week of the month seems to work in the buyers favor, especially oif the dealership is trying to get more sales in by month end.

Good luck to everyone still shopping!

It's funny when you're speaking with a rep and they literally tell you, "oh you should probably stick around to looking where you are because you won't find one at msrp here" WOW lol

It sucks up here in seattle. No dealerships would take my offer of 2k over MSRP saying they could sell it to someone else for more when I stopped by to see what they had. I had a trip planned to SoCal on November 1st. Walked in the door to one of the dealerships and offered them 41k OTD which included $1600 worth of options. I ditched my ticket back to seattle and drove home. Now I’m the proud owner of a PMM CTR. Car is registered in Cali so I saved a little on sales tax and RTA tax as well.

Thanks for the info.

This is where I picked up my PMM CTR and drove it 1600 miles back home last week. Probably won’t get the same deal as me because I believe they made a “mistake” when I offered them 41k OTD. They wanted 43k and then 42k. We agreed on 41k and it seemed like when he ran the numbers then he lost out on some of the pre installed accessories. (Karr alarm, windshield treatment , interior and exterior treatment, protection package, etc). Said to me because he already said yes then he wasn’t going to take back his offer. Numbers made it seem like I paid MSRP and $1000 for $1600 worth of pre installed dealer accessories. Don’t bother calling dealerships. They will not sell you a car over the phone or even give you their best deal. I called all the dealerships around LA before I visited and they just won’t take me seriously because I’m out-of-state. Also, make sure you give them your OTD amount, seemed to work to my favor when making a deal.

Also, if you purchase from them make sure you check your steering wheel for scratches. Apparently I missed a big scratch on my steering wheel made from a wedding ring. Didn’t notice until I was 400 miles into my journey home. :(

Thank for the details. You probably picked up the PMM I saw there back in September. Congrats!

Yeah, I think I might do the OTD price tactic. I think it’s approximately $38.7k OTD if I was to pay MSRP. I believe they would charge me San Diego county tax rate plus whatever CA DMV license and fees. I don’t want to offer above $40k OTD, so if they are including an alarm system, I might consider as high as $39.5k.

Also, I just went to DCH Mission Valley here in San Diego to inquire about the CBP they’ve had for a few weeks. They were adding a $600 protection package and $10,000 market adjustment, $46k. Asked the salesman that approached if that adjustment was negotiable, and he stated they would likely do $3k over, but definitely not MSRP. I reacted surprised stating “I heard they sold the CW last week at MSRP.” He then replied “Oh no, I think he paid at least $1k over.” I didn’t even reply, but thought to myself, I thought he said $3k over. I left and sent an e-mail to the Internet Sales Managet, Travis Triggs and he replied an hour later stating they now had a bid process on their Type R’s. I replied stating MSRP is my bid and let me know if he wants to work with me. Otherwise, I’m up in Cerritos this weekend and they’ve got 4 CBPs on their lot.

We’ll see what happens with both.

I went back through this thread and our forum member did get the CW from DCH for $1k over. No way they should get $3k over now.

Buyers aren't even asking for a discount...they're asking for MSRP...Honda should fine these fools for price gouging
