I hemed and hawed for a long while, but eventually went PRL. It is worth it. You can feel the difference. The air temps are dramatically lower and once you see where the filter is, it is very well shielded from road spray. Either do PRL or just stick to the stock box.

Isnt that the opposite?
No. Both will make power on the low end, but a CAI will produce more overall horsepower. with an SRI, the air doesn't have to travel as far, but wont make as much power as the CAI so the topend will be lower.

Usually people only buy SRIs for a few reasons:

- Easier to install and service
- Cheaper
- Usually louder noise
- Almost no hydrolock risk

For our car, I wouldn't go anything but a CAI. I also have one so i'm not just talking

I also wouldnt be expecting to enjoy the power part more than the sound it makes. The power gains arent THAT noticable. the sound is. id pay double what i paid for that sound

I'm in Canada looking to get an intake before spring. Mind if I ask you a few questions:
-Which intake did you buy?
-Do you recommend it?

One thing with the PRL cold air intake is it requires relocating the washer fluid reservoir on Canadian cars. I am lazy so will probably go with an SRI, I'm more interested in the sound than the small power gain anyway.

That’s not what Tuner Derek Robinson tested.
So did I read that right? It shows a increase of 8hp??

I could live with 8hp but if the manufacturer says about a 15hp increase I'd be dissapointed.
EVERY manufacturer of CAI's that I've come across grossly exaggerates the hp increase and usually a dyno run proves that.
MYTH BUSTERS did a show on CAI's and they barely made 1hp increase....it's on YOUTUBE I believe.

You read kind of correctly but either way DRob from IMWtuned is one of the most popular 10th gen civic tuner out there right now and very well rated.

I did the Odinist stock airbox mod listed here at Civicx. I love it. I got as low as 11 degrees over ambient on a trip last week. If I ever would get an aftermarket intake it would be the Cobra. I would get it for the sound, power and cooling.
