Anyone knows what those little tabs are for?
They're for helping you hold the film while applying it. Hold it by the tabs, apply the film to the fog, and smooth it out. Then use an craft knife to trim around the edge and remove the tabs. Some people just cut the tabs off before applying but I found them helpful.

I actually found it pretty easy when cutting off just one tab and pushing the tabless side in and positioning it around the edge and going from there. But leaving that one tab is helpful as you said.

Hey everyone!

A couple weeks ago I went ahead and ordered the Lamin-x headlight set (includes fogs and side markers) and installed it on my 17 Touring. Installation was pretty easy but I ended up with some weird headlight distortion.

Lamin-x customer service told me to wait a while to see if the curing would take care of it, but there was no observed improvement after a couple of weeks. They were kind enough to refund me, which was cool! It is kind of a bummer though, since the film has already taken a couple hits from road debris.

No idea if this is a common thing or not, but this is just what happened to me!

While the smoked out headlights were an absolute pain to put on, it was worth the hour and a half of cussing and re-application.

How's the visibility at night with the smoked headlights? Stock or aftermarket bulbs? I'd rather not get pulled over either but I love that look.

Visibility at night took a bit of a hit but living in the suburbs of Charlotte NC and how developed everything is out here, it isn't much of an issue. If I was living further out with little external lighting I would upgrade my bulbs but at the moment its stock underneath the wraps. As far as getting pulled over though thats never happened to me and don't for-see that just because of tinted lights.

Sorry to revive a long-dead thread...but... Has anyone done their headlights with Lamin-X film yet? It comes in 2 pieces for each one - one for the bulk of the headlight...one for the 'ridged' part...just trying to figure out which part should go on first. Something tells me the ridged part is going to be SO much fun to get done... The driving lights weren't horrible, once I decided to use a hair dryer to give the film more flexibility...
