Any pics of the car on jack stands by chance, I have 2 jacks and 4 jack stands, soon to be adding rhino ramps. I need to drop the belly pan to remove my intake to install the cold side prl charge pipe hose and my hasport motor mount

I absolutely don't mean to come off like an ass, but if you are not comfortable putting something basic like a civic on jack stands you probably shouldn't be doing it in the first place.

Jack stands may not all have a slot but they are all concave bellied in so that the pinch weld jack point will always settle down into them. If you are afraid of using them, either don't, have someone who is experienced come over the first time or use YouTube to watch them in action.

There is no need to worry about the paint coming off those jack points as in reality, they will be banged up by road debris over time anyhow.

For me at least I just want to keep the pinch welds straight cuz I'm a little OCD like that lol.

A point worth wondering about. When a pair of stands are rated at 2 tonnes, is that a total of 2 tonnes that each stand can handle on its own or is that two tonnes split between the two stands?

What is you don't understand ?
I lift one side of the car with the Civic basic jack and I put a jack stand. I do the same the other side of the car , now I can safely change my oil

That would be each. If you are using a pair of them, then the total weight they could suspend would be 2 tons. Where the Civics don't even weight that fully loaded, we are laughing all the way to safety town, weight load spec wise.

What is you don't understand ?
I think it was just your wording.

There is actually a central jack point in the front and back of almost all vehicles and if you have a hydraulic floor jack, you can lift it there and get the two jack stands in all at once. This is how I lift my cars for oil changes. Although I am still thinking about putting in a temporary stop bar on my garage floor so I can use my ramps to drive up on in the garage (Steel ramps just skate out of the way on concrete).

Have you actually looked at them?
I did and I know the Civic ones are reinforced pinch welds. Still reasonable to try and take precautions to prevent them from bending on a jack stand is it not? I do admit I'm new to this so I am taking more care than normal.

No worries. Half Acadian so I figured it was due to that. The rest of Canada and the US might not always get the talkwards backing though :) (I threw my dog through the window a ball)
