Hey everyone! I know it's been a while since we have chimed in here. I wanted to drop in now that the tune has been out for a while, and it looks like we got a few customers running it. However, we are looking for ways to improve the tunes in any way we can. In order for us to be successful with that, we would really like some third party data logs from you guys. That way, we can take a close look at how our tune is working in different cars, different fuels, different elevations etc. With a larger sample of data logs, we are able to really dial these tunes in better, and hopefully continue to make improvements. It's easy to dial it in perfectly on our shop car, but we can't be satisfied, or rely solely on one car. If anyone is currently on our Stage 1 tune, and are able to send in some data logs, I would be happy to send some MAP swag your way! Shoot me a PM, or email me directly at [email protected]

Thanks!
Ian

Is there any sort of comparison with the MAP stage 1 tune and the TSP stage 1 tune?

Check the respective dyno charts. I will say I was going to run MAP to compare to TSP but I have PRL CAI and DP/FP. MAP said their stage 1 was for bone stock car. They have tunes for their bolt ons but not tested with other brands. To their credit they checked with me before sending the tune. Nothing but good experiences with MAP.

@MAPerformance Can I map switch on the fly with a KTuner like I was able to do with your Cobb tune on my ST?
you can load multiple tune on the Ktuner and reflash when you want to use another Map

Has anyone been running the MAP tune for a few thousand miles? Any issues? How is the stock clutch holding up?
Running stage 2 in Hondata with MAP up pipe, down pipe, Intake, Street exhaust and PRL intercooler. Just did an 1100 mile drive and had no issues. Clutch feels great, but I don’t beat on the car.

Why is this forum TSP fanatical? I’ve used map for all my other cars (mostly), but there’s this mob mentality around tsp. I got stage one map anyways just wondering why people don’t seem as hype over map (amazing service and I’ve had good results for a decade-ish with them)

MAP has fantastic service and products but so does TSP. The reason (I think) that the TSP tune gets all the hype is that not only is it a great tune but is was created by Derek Robinson (currently the top dog tuner for the 10th gen).

As far as the MAP tune I haven't used it but it looks excellent on paper. Both tunes are notches above the KTuner off the shelf included tunes.

Can't go wrong with either tune or company.

Thank you very much, was feeling like I did some fatal mistake lol...but couldn’t see why. I’ll probably get tsp and compare :)

Why is this forum TSP fanatical?
Over a year ago.. the site was Vit fanatical... as they were over on 9thgenCivic a few years ago when he was doing a lot of etuning. His blog was kind of considered gospel when it came to modding potential of N/A 9th gens and a big reason why I ditched mine.

He made hotter reflashes than the basemaps too, but the ONLY way you could get them was by buying a tuning device from him. He would NOT sell a reflash a la carte (I contacted the company and tried, figuring they wouldn't turn down money). After he left with a few feathers ruffled, TSP got with Dereck who'd been running his tune on a Si mule to ensure it was good for an extended period of time and then they offered a a la carte tune that was was a similarly 'hot' reflash. Dereck had been here the whole time tuning/etuning cars... but with Vit going away to tune on MOTEC and Dereck staying, plus TSP offering something Vit's company wouldn't do... to sell economical reflashes w/o the need to have bought the tuner itself from him, it opened it up.

TSP is first to swoop in afterwards and that's why they have the following. They've been selling their Stage 1 tune for a little over a year and Stage 2 ethanol tune for maybe half that.

That being said... competition is good. Good luck to the fellas at MAP. It looks great. Not overly peaky for torque in the midrange and holding power up top.
