Well, it is official. The models for Canada are now fully listed on the Canadian Honda site and it is savage. I will not be changing out my car for one of these at all.

  • No turbo on less than the si or a touring.
  • No leather model without going with the touring.
  • Sport is higher than EX and seems more to have replaced the EX-T but no turbo.
  • They put the chrome on the black areas down by where the fogs go and not just on the touring.
  • No fogs as standard on the EX. (They weren't before but they were on the EX-T that doesn't exist now.)

Ya, just not at all worth it to ever change. Oh well. I am sure they will feel it in sales to a certain extent. More worth it to me to make my 2017 really mine.

I would be one of those, for example, with my Canadian EX. If I did it, I would jump trim levels and not just get another EX. I would gain a 1.5T, bigger wheels, fogs, the new head unit and anything else newer/better. I am, however only now hitting the one year mark so I am stuck sitting on my hands for at least another year and likely two.
Ahaha, so much for gaining 1.5t, bigger wheels, fogs, and stuff with the 2019 EX-T that doesnt exist anymore, gotta get a touring now if you want the turbo. pretty wild to think about but hey, at least we didn't buy the EX too early, assuming that they'd put the turbo into the new EX's

edit: Just realized you already posted about it. RIP

Well at least you can start making it yours!! I put an AEM CAI on mine and it sounds so beastly, the tune definitely helped the engine out a lot too. I gotta adjust the tune for the CAI tho cause my fuel trims are off a bit

edit2: Could always trade it in for a leftover 2018 EX-T at a dealership later

Oh for sure. First things first so first is proper floor mats and then second will be a KTuner. After that, some HID and LED upgrades for the headlights and more cosmetics and lighting from there...

Only one year in on this one so I would take a bath. If I could win that elusive LottoMax... Nope, this will be my ride for a while now.

I just ordered these mats https://www.findway.ca/f518-style-3d-car-floor-liners/honda/civic/2018/sedan/26200b they look kinda carpety, unlike the huskies you see that are ugly af IMO -- These look kinda like stock mats, but are high-ridge and waterproof and seem durable. Also much cheaper than huskies/weatherbeaters.

I'm looking at HID's for my headlamps too!! And I ordered these https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07FXNT4DF/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 smoked sidemarkers, to replace the orange ones on my Modern Steel EX

The AEM intake I installed was more expensive than I woudlve liked, took 3.5h to install, presses against a hose (put a rubber piece in there to absorb vibrations/prevent wear) and makes vtec loud enough to feel like I'd like it quieter. But the overall engine sounds are more pronounced, louder, angrier, rumblier, deeper. in a good way, if not for some resonance at around 4500rpm and then again at vtec. VTEC shakes my whole driver's cabin now lmao, resonance amirite? Gonna see if there's anything I can do to dampen it tho

IDK about you but ever since the tuner and intake, the 2.0L has grown on me a lot. It's nice not having to worry about fuel dilution for the oil too

Hey! Any chance you can send me a link to the official Canadian line up. I tried looking through the site, figure I must be missing something.

Cheers.

Ya, their site is weird. No less weird than the US site but just a different weird. Here is the direct link to the Civic Sedan page: https://www.honda.ca/civic_sedan/specs

Aurelleah figured and I think rightly so, that the LX and the lower likely cost of the non-turbo engine is why Honda Canada wiped it out except on their most expensive models. If I wanted to go full conspiracy, I would say it is because the EX-T was a very low cost route to basically an Si in power with the low cost of a tuner. They didn't want the eating of their own children by a lower model and tada.

Oh no, don't misunderstand, I enjoy all the other features of my EX and wish I could have had leather without the touring. I just see it as epically stupid that a car which is 100% sellable in both the US and Canada. No fussing required AT ALL. Would ever have a difference in the lineup. They all meet the same emissions and collision standards, they can be set to show KPH or MPH, they have LED daytimes (Required in Canada), they set the headlights on if you run your wipers (US) and on and on. Just dumb.

Oh well, I'll get over it.

Of course you would recommend a Kia lol. God I hope you buy one and enjoy that 70% depreciation when you drive a souless kia off the lot. Cheap is right, everything about it is cheap.

Ya, most European cars are just trash. They may look pretty or neat and may indeed drive nice fresh off the lot but after that, oh boy. Total garbage. I watch/ed Top Gear and now The Grand Tour as well as read up on a lot of this stuff and man, for all the slagging that Jeremy likes to toss at Ford and GM, there are definitely more trash car brands and models in Europe. (Comically, he likes some that are actually GM subsidiaries or were before the 2008 recession).
