Agree 100% that they look absurdly good when they're not lit up. Re: signals, I kinda wish we had Audi/Mercedes logic where the white DRL goes off while the signal flashes, less of an issue on the Touring with its signals that can be seen from the moon but it'd be nice on the base headlights.

IMO the best looking setup is a switchback style with the white and amber diodes appearing to light up the same element; this is the appeal of the Morimoto XB LED in the OP.

Aren't these pretty much like the TRS headlights?
Looks the same. It also says you need more than 100 pairs to get the group price... good luck with that.

If I'm spending that much money on headlights though I'd rather buy them from somebody I trust like TRS. These new XB actually look so good that my bar is pretty low in terms of what would be acceptable for output for them.

I like how they at least have some "output" shots of what various elements look like when illuminated, unlike every other aftermarket headlight, ever.

Turn signal brightness looking potentially decent.

Yeah, I like the DRL/turn signal. I've tried profile pixel drl board. They are dimmer than stock. I might reach out to supplier to see if they willing to sell just the drl unit.

Interesting, they also have individual led projectors for sale.

I’ve been considering this projector, but haven’t bit the bullet since I’ve never retrofitted before. Lol.
Yeah it’s not that difficult but it can be intimidating. I’m not sure how well that projector will fit into our headlights either, most likely there is some trimming involved :dunno: but if you try it make sure to post a DIY lol

If you're already opening up the headlight there's no advantage to MLED and you might as well go full HID at that point, plus you risk failure and replacement becomes a nightmare. The only reason to go LED at this stage is for the overall appearance of the housing, an advantage that is lost with MLED.

Well, the driver for the LED is outside the headlight, so if it was to fail you just unplug it and switch it out, also, HIDs fail all the time as well lol. We all know HID is better than LED performance wise, I think the point is to try something different.

Was speaking of the diodes failing obviously, but yeah I get the angle of trying something different... by virtue of not slapping MH1 in there and calling it a day we're all kinda trying something different.

Those pics are above are stills from this vid, i.e. I'm getting the feeling the Morimoto XB are looking an awful lot like a rebrand.

This video has a few snippets of the sequential signal disabled:

Their review....

Morimoto Civic lights are in stock!
Just got our first set in for some testing. Here are our thoughts....
Construction- Feels solid. Well made. A few steps above your standard aftermarket light, close to OEM grade. Not flimsy at all. Clean seals.
Wiring - Compatible with halogen and LED equipped models. Plug and play with both! Sealed and proper waterproof connectors.
Output - Much brighter than halogen equipped models. Low beam Halogen is about 100lux on our wall, these put out about 325 lux (higher than what you see on OEM HID projectors) and the high lux was hitting 800+ which is very solid.
DRL - Nice color temp on the DRL. Very bright pure white. No blue.
Sequential Turn Signals - Who doesn't love it? If you don't you simply unplug the one connection and its a normal turn signal.
Things that we dislike:
This is really just by design since you have 5 small projectors side by side. The two outer low beam projectors have a flat cut off, and the 3rd one is the one with the step. The issue is the stepped cutoff is a little higher than the flat. This creates a small gap between the two beams which isn't ideal but we have seen this in OEM designs.
High beam hot spot is a little high to be truly effective at its max lux range. Its still a good high beam and does add intensity where it counts, which is in the distance on the road...
At 3x the output of stock halogens, the only question that remains is width of the output. My other concerns have been addressed...

- Quality is good enough/backed by TRS and US resellers
- Output is potentially on par with Touring LED with an actual sharp cutoff
- DRL brightness appears comparable to OEM, turn signal brightness I think comes up a bit short of Touring but Touring is crazy bright; these are also boosted by the switchback function which disables the white LED, further enhancing visibility of the signal
- Easy provision to disable sequential signal
- By far the best looking headlight bar none, and among the best looking for any vehicle period

If you have $1,300 sitting around to spend on aesthetics these are a no-brainer.

The look's are great but for $1300 for a step better output from oem isn't that appealing, i guess ill stick with HID retrofit
