Shit man, that's enough to repaint the entire car.
yea, I was a skeptic as well...but now I know it was worth it :) I'm one of those guys that likes a shiny car, but absolutely hates waxing. So this is the best solution for me...I wash and dry, and bam! Perfect for lazy guy like me :D

Can you still get swirl marks on the PPF?
Yes BUT some ppf film have healing properties. Im trying to post a youtube link but getting a error msg. Ive seen them scuff/scratch/permanent marker scotchgard pro series film then remove it with heat/wipe off.....so i wonder if heat will remove swirls. Hmm should i test on mine???

Btw you guys are crazy for spending 1-2k for ppf. I was quoted $900+ JUST for front bumper! Buy precut ppf and do it yourself.

@b3arfruit Congrats on the car new CTR aswell as keeping it Honda

@TypeRinATL Holy smokes! I heard that the swirls were easy to get but even after Ceramic coating is applied?!?Also real quickly.. is it okay to place PPF'd over ceramic?

No when you apply PPF the ceramic needs to be buffed off those areas unfortunately. But a plus is that the paint under the PPF should be swirl free after that.

Yes the PPF will swirl just as easily as the paint.......

But park the car out in the sun for 10 or so minutes and all the swirls are gone. The material heals itself.

Yea at Maaco
@UFO CTR How much could someone expect to spend on said treatments?
Been getting quotes around SoCal $800 partial front PPF, $1500-2000 full front PPF, $1000-1500 ceramic coating. If youā€™re in a less populated area Iā€™m not sure if it would be more (less competition) or less (lower overhead costs)

4k is plenty to get your car re-painted. $1k gets it done at Maaco.

I don't care, it's your money. Nobody is going to care in 10 years if your car had PPF or not - the used price will be similar with similar miles.

It's not hard, it's impossible.

The paint will swirl literally if you touch it with ANYTHING. And I have mine ceramic coated with the hardest coating you can get.

I take EXTREME care in washing, foam cannon, only touch the paint with the highest end microfibers and such......and it still swirls. I've given up since it's technically just a track car for me, but I've been getting the whole car PPF'd so I don't have to worry about it.

So far I have about 60% of the car covered.
If youā€™re gettjng all the car PPFā€™d, how exactly have you ā€œgiven up since itā€™s ā€˜justā€™ a track carā€?
