It will NOT fit. Max mounting depth available for the stock box is 3-5/8”. The JL W3V3 8” requires 4-9/16” mounting depth (or 1” more) not yet accounting for the cone exercusion length. Not only that, the cone wi butt up against the back of the stock plastic grill and won’t allow the cone to move.

This is why I designed the Deeper Sub Grill Kit which is required to allow larger magnet subs like JL to work properly. Read up on the thread above for all the documentation and research done.
Oh I know about your grill I am currently on your group buy list from Facebook :) I got this in anticipation of your grill. Looking forward to the final product

PS - Make sure you use an inline fuse for the LC2i power cable. I think it’s a 1A else max 3A fuse. Check the doc that comes with the LC2i. Not home so can’t check for you.
Thanks for the tip! I was planning on using an equivalent JL audio product but they also recommend the inline 1A fuse as you say.

How will the people on the list be contacted? Through Facebook?
yes, preferably via the fb group since the master list is kept there. exceptions for those who don't use fb at all will be made.

finally got around to install the LC2i...oh shit, this thing bumps so hard now, I think I need to add Soundskin now :)

Seriously? Does the LC2i make a big difference? Did you have the attenuation issue from replacing all the door speakers, or did you just add it anyway? Not trying to spend more money, but the unit isn't very expensive if it really helps.

yea, the bass is a lot cleaner now...have to use my audio controls to soften up the bass a bit too. No I didn't have the door speaker issue...I also notice, my highs are lacking now. :)

cool! yes, your highs seems to lack simply because your bass is much cleaner now than before. there was some attenuation going on without the lc2i also even without upgrading the door speakers. you just got back full low end frequencies so they come out stronger....not that you actually lack highs.

@Muggsy lc2i isn't required if you're just doing sub alone. however, if you do sub and mono amp, it's required to really clean up the bass - regardless if you did doors or not. very simple to install and set up, and for $70 or less it's amazing!

OK, you convinced me. :) Now I just need to wait for the price to drop back down, it went up from $70 to $90-100 on Amazon in the past few days. Oh well, I'm in no rush.

I think retail is $99. I'm sure it will come back down. I actually just ordered the front door speakers on Amazon (JL Audio C2-650x). Price came down from $179 to $119.
