I have my PRL Catless downpipe and front pipe combo for couple months now, the smell is getting into my brain. I dont smell it with window up but if it smells pretty bad from outside of the car..

I wonder if anyone has PRL Catted DP? I am thinking to switch to catted, I dont care if i will lose some hp, I just dont want to switch to catted and it still smells..

anyone has catted mind to share?
THank you

Catless should smell of sweet ole gasoline lol that's the point no cat means no honey comb filter to filter out the exhaust gas.

The above comments are correct. I experience the same thing when I had a 2003 WRX that was catless. It smelled like the cars did in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

I have both pipes and considering going back to catted. It's very strong and smells pretty bad. I'm just going to wait and see how it'll be with ethanol
I agree. I felt kind of bad that when i saw car besides me roll up their window each time i stop besides them at red light...
Plus.. i cant have my windows down now.

My WRX was straight piped on e85 and it was amazing. Smelled like Kettle Corn cooked with Alcohol when you really beat on it.

I had to put a cat back on my RSX after running a TODA header without a cat. On the highway with the windows down I felt like I was dying, the smell was bad.

I am still making great power after adding a cat. My car has 180 pounds of torque with a stock k24, i'm cool with that.

Is there really a bit difference in power?

Torque curve matches headers without a cat. I am sure there is a little loss in HP, but nothing you would notice on the street. + not worrying about emissions FTW
