Heya, my aem CAI comes on Wednesday as does my tuner. The aem has a slot for the mass airflow sensor. Jusr wondering, will the mass airflow sensor pick up the increased airflow or would I need to adjust something in the tune when I tune it? Running on a canadian EX w/sensing if that matters

Improperly sized MAF housing can throw fueling off. It's good to watch your fuel trims after installing this to see if it is varying much more than factory did.

Using the AEM CAI, my LTFT is around -4.5ish, would this be an issue? It was closer to zero before.

if it was closer to zero previously then it's definitely throwing fuel off. The ECU will certainly try to correct for it. You can work with a tuner if you want that corrected.

When you're tuning with KTuner, its usually better to just stick with the stock airbox. The Cold Air Intakes that are available for the 2.0L dont really give much (if at all) any gains so you're not really missing much by sticking to factory. Unless of course, you have someone tune the car for you so that it works with the intake. Only real thing that the CAI gives you imo is the sound, other than that it doesn't really do much.

ok; is it something I should actively be concerned about at that number or will the ecu take care of it without considerable negative impact?

The AEM one's been dyno'd to add around 4hp across the rev band and even a bump in the low end. I also love the sound of mine (I already purchased it and installed it last night). The LTFT is currently at -4.49 ish, so it'd seem to be within the range of the ECU's compensation. I'm just wondering if I'd benefit any further by adjusting the tune to "fix" that number to be closer to zero

smol update: Checked some earlier logs and it seems like my LTFT wasn't that close to zero on the stock intake with the stock ktuner tune. With the CAI, STFT was close to 0 at low throttle, rising to +10 in accellerations, sometimes down to -10 for short times. Without the CAI, it could swing from -10 to +10 more regularly, seemed to fluctuate much more. With the CAI it leaned negative when idling at lights and stuff. When in-gear/moving it was zero, and then positive on the accelleration
It seems with the CAI it doesn't seem to be too much different from stock to be a real issue
