Debating on getting a drop in filter to appease and hold me over. Allows me to wait longer and see more products come to market for the FK8.

Here are some of the options I came across. Probably leaning towards a non oiled filter unless convinced otherwise. Did I miss any and which one is the best? or should I just scrap the idea.

-AEM??
-aFe Pro 5R (oiled)
-aFe Pro Dry
-K&N (oiled)
-Pipercross
-PRL (oiled)

I have a K&N filter and you get the woosh sound a ton louder with just that, I’m upgrading to Eventuri Intake next week so I’ll have my K&N for sale soon if you decide to go that route

I have pipercross and the whoosh sound is good. Cheaper than k&n over here.

Nothing like the sound of an eventuri though!

I've tried almost all of them. For the money, I think the AEM Dryflow is the best bet.

I used the AEM Dry Flow drop in filter on my Si. Made a little bit of noise and the bypass valve more audible, and added a bit to the butt dyno. I think it was worth the 40 bucks.

On my G37 I have AFE dry filter and didn't notice any difference at all in sound or power.

Edit: bummer there is no Dry Flow for Type R.

Is the PRL drop in dry?

PRL is an oiled filter

Updated my original post to specify the ones that are oiled.

I ordered a AEM dry flow yesterday, and will probably be here in 2 weeks. i'll get some sound clips up when I've installed.

What’s part no.? I didn’t see any for Type R on their website. 2.0 part says excluding Type R. I preordered the PRL stage 1.

Oh dang, you’re right. I ordered through a local auto store. I’ll go cancel my order today :-(
