My base warranty on the 1.5L is going to expire after the winter. KTuner is tempting. Does KTuner allow changing any fine grained settings that would help boost highway MPG? I do about 80% highway driving at the speed limit of 110 kmph. Even a bump of 5 mpg (optimistic I know) would make the Tuner pay off in about a year.

I've read the other KTuner mpg thread and that discussion is oriented towards worrying about mpg drops after flashing with KTuner. And I know someone is going to say Honda would have done this or that at the factory if it could boost mpg.

I'm wondering if someone eager enough can do something with KTuner to bump highway MPG on the Canadian 1.5L Touring sedan.

I'm sure some combination of lowering boost targets (especially in Eco) could help but a 5 MPG increase is highly doubtful.

I've always been curious if a tuner would increase my MPG as well. Problem is, most people that are buying tuners are concerned with MPH not MPG :p

I know in my WRX that I get better MPG when I'm running my highest HP tune. I get better MPG with that tune than I do with the "economy mode" tune that comes on the tuner. I'm assuming it's because the engine is running as efficiently as possible with the high HP tune.

I actually saw a 3mpg boost when I switched to AMSOIL SS 0w20 oil compared to the Honda oil. I have very similar driving environment and habit. I drive 110 miles a day(177km) and 90 miles of that is done at 70mph (113kmh) with ECON mode on and cruise control set.

Honda does not have the best MPG's. Because of emmisions. You could take out the catalytic converter, change the ECU to target lean-burn mode at low loads I.e 16-20.1:1 AFR. You could gain more than 5 mpg that way
