I never bothered to clean my exhaust before - what are you guys doing to keep your tips clean? Are they stainless or chrome? Standard wash and sealant good enough, or should I go buy some special metal polish?

Serious question: after cleaning, how long do they stay clean for? Based on how black mine are, I just assumed they couldn't be kept clean.

The carbon will build op on it, its just matter of days after you clean it. I normally use Eagle One Nevr-Dull(literally the name) to clean it....should get most of the black soot right off and wipe with a cloth after.

Took a couple times of washing/soaking it to gets black off. But once I got i off its been easy every wash after. Leaves a shine on it like its brand new too!

I have some Griots wheel cleaner - I'll try that to get the soot off. If it doesn't work, I'll try the ones you guys mentioned. But from what I've been reading, it's all the same stuff and should cut through the soot.

I've also got some FK Hi-Temp Paste wax that has been good on my wheels - I'm going to try a couple of coats on the exhaust, see if that helps.

Eh, I don't bother with this. I knew it was going to happen and it isn't something I am going to keep up on.

Windex and a toothbrush does wonders! But it doesn’t stay clean very long!

+1. This stuff has been around forever, and I have been using it for many years to clean exhaust tips. It's really great stuff.
