The CRV engine shouldnt be too different than our 1.5T. I wonder what went wrong.

Been seeing other threads about this issue today, there are differences between the CRV and Civic engines because the CRV does make more power and torque obviously when compared to the Civic engine so thats maybe why the CRV is having more issues. It's the same old thing we've been hearing about fuel mixing into the oil so it causes the car to stall out for some people. Hopefully the 1.5T doesn't become plagued with issues but this is certainly something to keep note of even if you're a civic 1.5 owner.

Same engine but the CRV is tuned to 190hp. It has lower compression (10.3:1) and higher boost (+18.5psi). Civic EX-T is 10.6:1 and +16.5psi. Then add ~500lb and what you get is significantly more load on the engine.

My guess it that idling/driving in stop and go traffic with a cold engine causes dilution. In winter when the temp is around 20F the engine will not warm up when the heat is on maximum. The heater blower is more powerful in the CRV and there are more vents so it is really effective at pulling the heat away from the small 1.5L engine.

The oil level was a bit high in the winter. I started driving without heat until the engine warmed up and my drive was long enough to let the fuel burn off. I can definitely believe that there are CRVs up north that are stalling because they have 1/4 gallon of fuel accumulated in their engine because they never get up to operating temp from short drives and heat on full blast.

With all the talk about dilution I had to go check the oil level in the CRV a few days ago. Level is perfect.
